Free Skating Show Tickets!
Im not plugging my site, just this is a genuine offer for fans of ice skating. Olga Sharutenko (who skated with John Barrowman in last years DOI is the lead skater in this show).
If you are in the Woking Area and are free on Thursday 8 February (evening) I have 5 pairs of tickets to see Swan Lake on Ice in conjunction with fsuniverse.net and The Imperial Ice Stars. Just PM me with your email address and we'll sort out the details such as picking the tickets up at the box office. This is not a rip off or scam! If you registered at my site you will see threads related to this : (And La Rhumba and Miffy can vouch for me!) http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/show...27#post1247127 http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showthread.php?t=41722 Much love to all fellow skating/DOI fans!

I can definitely vouch for the lovely Daffoldil, and would advise any skating fan to register at FSU to keep abreast of all the skating news and happenings, competition results and discussion, throughout the season and off season.
I'm just gutted I can't go to see the show this year, and will have to make do with the DVD. That's a very kind offer though from Imperial Ice Stars.

So many thread views! And noones took me up on it! Is it cos noone is near Woking? Do u think Im going to scarily accost you? LOL! (I wont be there, its just needing to know your name to get the tix reserved for you at the box office!)
Oh well The offers still there guys send me a private message ( I would never reveal your name!) xxxMy review of the show (and the theatre in Cardiff was full!) (I wrote it for my site) Dont get me wrong, I still love ice skating , I wouldnt still have this site if I didnt. Just that not a lot seems to excite me on the ice anymore. Coupling this with my aversion to attending gala shows at the end of major competitions, I have to say I was just looking at the whole thing as a pleasant day out. I mean skaters on a tiny ice surface? Their going to have swans on stilts? Also a flying wire? How good would it be? Was it just going to be another cheesefest that we'll watch because we love the sport but not because we're really expecting to see something spectacular? I even hadn't bothered watching the Eurosport Gala at New Years just for the same reason. How wrong I was! This show has re ignited my love for ice skating all over again! Everything from the stunning visuals of the sets, the quality of the skating and the music was magical. I was almost close to tears when the scene changed and we caught our first glimpse of the swans on the lake. My favourite character was the evil Rothbart, wonderfully characterised by Anton Klykov, a small speedy skater with fantastic edgework. He really gave all to his part with the first appearance of him blowing smoke LOL! The closing of act one with his anger coming through is simple but brilliant, a ring of fire on the ice? Tres magnifique! Loved the camaraderie between the Prince and Benno, again brilliantly portrayed by Vadim Yarkov and Andrei Penkine. Andrei had a little problem on a jump or 2 but covered it up well. Olga Sharutenko is a goddess, she has a wonderful innocent quality to her skating while retaining fantastic balletic gracefulness, I was well impressed at the 'en pointe on ice'. The flying wire sequence was gorgeous and not at all cheesy, fitted in with the theme brilliantly! The guy who does the backflips on ice deserves major respect! Eville Black Swans on stilts were amazing, if a little scary! Swordfighting on ice! That part was amazing and really drew everyone in, was all I could do not to cheer on loudly for the Prince! The music cuts were done well in my opinion, Ive never seen Swan Lake as a full ballet show before but now Im intrigued and want to, I bet it wont compare with this. I fully intend to see this show again at least once before it leaves the UK in June. My non skating fan friends I took along were in absolute awe and speechless at how fantastic the show was, they're still going on about it It was a magical end to well, Christmas really, quite fitting seeing as yesterday was Twelfth Night! Thankyou Imperial Ice Stars for bringing skating into the hearts of the untiffed masses (non skating fans LOL) and bringing it back into the heart of this long time fan. Go here to the website, check the promo vids, and get tickets for when it's near you! I promise you wont regret it! Last edited by Daffodil67 : 02-02-2007 at 00:41. |
