Yawn!
Another dead Police Officer in The Bill........
In the old days (when this programme was good) deaths of main characters meant something - Viv Martella, Ken Melvyn, Jo Morgan... now it happens nearly every week and it's meaningless. It's just shock shock shock shock and none of it matters anymore. It's a shame that TB is just a crappy soap now. |

I agree, when Viv and Jo died, and indeed Cathy Marshall it was so shocking that someone had died just doing their job but now with the likes of Kerry, Honey, Cass, Ken, Marilyn, Sam, Di, Kate, Tom Chandler, Andrew Monroe, Matt Boyden, Derek Conway, Gabriel, Lance and god knows who else dying in the past few years it's just totally unrealistic

All the soaps are like this now; killing them off is just the easy (and lazy) option. It isn't even a shock when it happens anymore.

They've hardly been killed off every week. Infact, last year not a single Sun Hill police officer died. Honey becomes the first officer to die for well over a year and that's enough for TB to be slagged off as unrealistic.

Yes, you're right, there have been too many deaths in the past, especially when Paul Marquess was in charge. He's responsible for all the more recent deaths you listed. However, the last year has been fantastic, one reason being that not a single police officer died and that is thanks to the current exec producer Jonathan Young so it annoys me that the OP thinks TB is like it was under Marquess when it clearly isn't. |
