Ofcom have recently updated some (and published additional) regions on their DTT Transmitter Maps page

Border v1.8 [pdf] Published 07|10|08, 1.5 Mb
Central v1.6 [pdf] Published 07|10|08, 1.8 Mb
Channel Islands v1.6 [pdf] Published 06|03|08
Granada v1.5 [pdf] Published 07|10|08, 1.5 Mb
London v1.3 [pdf] Published 07|10|08, 1.6 Mb
Meridian v1.5 [pdf] Published 07|10|08, 1.7 Mb
South Wales v1.7 [pdf] Published 07|10|08, 1.7 Mb
STV Central v1.5 [pdf] Published 06|03|08
STV North v1.4 [pdf] Published 06|03|08
Tyne Tees v1.1 [pdf] Published 07|02|08, 1Mb
Northern Ireland v1.1 [pdf] Published 07|02|08, 600Kb
Wales v1.7 [pdf] Published 07|10|08, 1.9 Mb
West v1.6 [pdf] Published 06|03|08
West Country v1.8 [pdf] Published 07|10|08, 1.8 Mb
Yorkshire v1.3 [pdf] Published 07|10|08, 1.5 Mb
On the Meridian transmitter map they have the Luccombe transmitter as a relay of Rowridge, when it is actually a relay of Hannington, which means some poor sods on the Isle of Wight have to have "Thames Valley Tonight" as their local ITV news... Does this mean it is going to switch to a Rowridge feed??

Also I live in Weymouth & am lucky enough to live in a part of town where I can get good reception from Rowridge & have Freeview already. As our relay transmitters here are switching next year, (but we wont be getting all the muxes on them, so not all the channels will be available), after Rowridge has switched in 2012 & increased in power, will the signal be able to be picked up in the rest of Weymouth? As friends & family here in other parts of town cannot currently get a signal from Rowridge & would want to see all the available channels on Freeview, or would Stockland Hill be able to be picked up directly?? Its always puzzled me why the local relays here do not get fed from Rowridge anyway...

Nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Your being silly

Apart from Ireland being in the way and the power of local TV stations at I think Freeman Point in the Channel Islands not being that strong you wont get much out there except via satellite although I'm not so sure about if SABRE would make to much of a difference??
You'll get RTE1 and 2 on VHF from Mullaghanish a huge distance out in the Atlantic...

AHHHHH! VHF (wipes away a misty tear) I remember it well.

The UK switched off VHF TV on the 3rd January 1985

Much to my annoyance! We were never allowed to have or see a TV, my parents believed that it was controlled by evil spirits! I was able to listen to Central on a portable radio in the garden! it fell around 86 or 87mhz just before Radio2 and only just within the tuning dial.

Can anyone give us a screenshot of the captions?
There does seem to be a distinct lack of captions online (not onscreen, don't live in the area in question).

Although I guess it's a case of finding somebody who:

A. Lives in or near the area
B. Has equipment capable of analogue screencapture (or a steady hand with a camera)
C. Knows about this forum
D. Has somewhere to upload the image, knowing full well that a few thousand DS geeks (myself included) will hit that image multiple times.

... So little change at all with Whitehaven, maybe better with Selkirk, and improving everytime a switchover looms.

If the caption is not significantly bigger than some of the crappy DOGs you see on TV, people won't even notice!

Digital UK people were out in force in Hawick this weekend
with Outdoor screens with P.A. systems
telling the good folk that they need to switch.
Sky had their SKY-HD vans there as well.
So it's all go for Wednesday

Has BBC 2 Analogue been removed from Selkirk yet ?

From what I have been reading from previous posts and ofcom, BBC2 Analogue was due to be turned off today.

I am a little mystified why there has not been any news coverage of the event (like in whitehaven's switch over).

Is there anyone actually watching TV from the Selkirk transmitter ?

The Selkirk switch off should allow any problems to be sorted before switch off proper starts next April, will move quite quickly and by this time next year all of the south west region, border region, granada region and most of Wales will be digital only

Digital Switch Over successfully completed here in the Borders - the analogue channels were removed at a few minutes past midnight, Selkirk was rejigged by 0130, Hawick went fully live around 1300, and Arqiva reports the final relay went on air at 1630 this afternoon.

Goodbye analogue - you served us well

Hello.
I don't think this document has been mentioned before, but here's a link to the BBC's coverage plan for DTT, with the frequencies for the two multiplexes that will carry BBC services after switchover (Mux 1 and the HD Mux) for every transmitter in the UK, including new ones at Great Yarmouth, Clacton, Lowestoft etc and the transmitter power:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/info/policies/pdf/coverage.pdf

I hope you find it as informative as I have.
