... but out of the final three tonight, I was glad Corey made it through. I really really don't like Patrick. He is not what this show is about. I dislike Corey, but I'll be able to stand it.

Aww, I love Josh. I voted for him pretty consistently for two hours last night. I was watching Donnie Darko on my computer with my headphones on and redialing without listening to the phone. I hung up on my friend that was calling me twice.

What did you guys think?

I agree...Corey did sing quite well compared to the others...so I was glad he made it in terms of his singing...

And Joshua was a shoe-in of course. lol. Glad he made it too.

I like how they are bringing more back next week from the non 32-finalists...considering i think they realized that some of the ones they picked for the 32 sucked. lol.

Also, it makes for a more interesting show...since there aren't only 5 singing.....which would be weird spacing it out over an hour without having the choosing on that night like they did last year.

I don't think Patrick is a great singer either...he seemed out of place a bit there...he's a rocker...so he just screams more than he sings.

Got to say it was really weird reading the boards last night? Was Juanita as bad as she sounded? Did Patrick really stink?
btw NDJess, I'm really glad Clay is back for the wildcard. Try as I might, I cant get excited about any of them. By this time last year, even though I couldn't watch it, I loved Justin, Tamyra and Kelly -also Christina Christianson. At least Clay can sing, and stylists can do wonders.
Will watch the show this evening, but, unless its a bit more inspiring, I cant see myself watching with any enthusiam It 's like watching average singers performing really badly.
I dont know whether its a cultural thing, but by the final 10 on Pop Idol, I was rooting for about 6 of them.
With this lot I cant really say any of them make me wish they were the American Idol

Well, I managed to keep away from this thread until after the show!!!

The best two on the night went through....I think Josh is pretty good. Didn't particularly like Corey's performance that much but it was better than the rest.

Juanita..pah, I think Simon and Randy may just know a thing or two about what they made darned good livings from!

I know. Makes you wonder what planet they're on. Luckily all the reviews I've read in the American press are equally as scathing about "trailer trash" (that's what they called Juanita) and the rest of the over inflated egos that made up so many of the top 32. I'm glad Josh won, Corey was better in the results show, and I think Clay has an amazing voice. He desperately needs a make over though.
I loathed that Ricky bloke last week, he'd drive me nuts if I have to watch him for too long.
Oh well- one more shot at the wild-card and down to the final 12. Fox are really milking this cash-cow aren't they?

I thought they were ALL mediocre tonight.... did the judge's not hear the marine man's awful long note?

And I haven't seen any amazing talent in the whole 4 weeks really..... I think the Pop Idol top 10 wipe the floor with most of them...... even Laura!!!!

Yup, they're picking 4 wild cards. That's what I meant about milking it. It's Fox's highest rated show and they're making a fortune out of advertising. So they're sticking 12 through, gives them another 2 shows

Yes, those extra shows will push the show farther into May sweeps month. Apparently, FOX won the coveted 18-49 demographic for the February sweeps.

I think Josh and Corey both performed better on the decision show. I think the wildcard show will probably turn out the best. I think it's interesting that they are bringing back four girls who didn't make it past the first round. Strange.

Pic of the wild card group:

And I can't imagine what the twist is going to be. If FOX thought the Joe Millionaire ending was a "twist" I'm not expecting much.

Isn't that the twist though- that instead of 2 wilcards they are having 4. I didn't watch Joe Millionaire(not on in the uk but heard about it), but wasn't the real twist that in the end both of them were given half a million each?

Some people on another board said they saw Paula on Entertainment Tonight and the twist is supposed to make them "give the performance of a lifetime." I wonder what it could mean.

Yeah, on Joe Millionaire they gave them each half a million dollars. They really hyped up this twist that "you will never believe." The advertisements made it seem like it was some sort of scandal. Needless to say, I was disappointed. (But I still thought the ending was sweet.)

Goodness, I watch too much TV.

Hopefully the twist is....they bring Frenchie back!!!!

lol...ok..that's just wishful thinking.

I really don't know what the twist could be tho. What would make them "give the performance of a lifetime?"

Simon: OK guys, if you don't sing good, we cut off your tongue so you can never sing again.

Ok, i'm just being sadistic. lol...but really..what would can they do to make them want to sing better than they did during the previous rounds?

Hang on a sec, maybe they will have a famous popstar watch them as well or the twist is that instead of 4 people going through, only one.

Doesn't it seem a bit unfair that the odds of going through to the final are better in the Losers' heat than the rest??

Especially as they've stuffed the group with four non-starters.
Remind me again - why is the audience paying to vote??

It is a bit unfair, but to get into the wildcard group you need the judges to like you. If they didn't like you or you didn't stand out then they wouldn't have picked you.

I read somewhere that Simon was flying out Hayley and Jessica, could this have something to do with the twist?
