This is not racist, racialist or anything else. But her English isn't good enough.

I hope she stays on it (because I quite like her), but it's embarrassing to watch (I feel embarrassed for her) but she better be having some express English lessons.

Totally agree with you

Who care if her English isn't good enough? She manages to get her point across and they are always very valid.

I think it's unfair to ask her to take lessons. Take the time to listen more carefully to what she is saying.

It doesn't help she just gets drowned out by the laughter. She knows what she's talking about, thats why she's on it.

And her name is Natalia, not 'that Russian judge'.

Natalia seems lovely, and i do feel sorry for her as she does struggle at times, but i always understand the point she is making.

I agree entirely, and to be honest I don't think her English is bad at all.
I'd like to see an English celeb going on TV in Russia and trying to speak her language

Shes lovely, I just want to squidge-hug her

Thanks for clearing that up then

I would rather have world class skaters as judges which is why I think she's good.

She also appears to be a fun person.

I know of Robin Cousins and Jason from Queer Eye but I don't know the names of all the judges as I haven't seen them before this show - big deal.

My nan is lovely but she is not capable of judging a baking competition on a prime time tv show.

Phil and Holly mentioned her name a few times tonight.
And is it really that hard to go onto the DOI website and at least find out her name before posting a thread about her?

She only spoke twice tonight, if you haven't seen the show before how can you properly judge how good her English is?

Without wanting to create an atmostphere in this otherwise tranquil forum...

If you knew her name, why on earth didn't you use it?

Its not that hard to remember 3 names, I mean come on. The show's been on three weeks (assuming you watched them all).

So what if she doesn't know every word in the English language?

IMO, her opinion & the points she makes are very valid, no matter how good she is at the English language.

She seems very lovely as well.

What channel are you watching? We're all watching an ice dancing show.

Oh dear.

Has your nan ever won an Olympic gold (and silver) medal for baking?
Has she got an almost flawless record of firsts at the World Baking Championships?

NO I DON"T KNOW ALL THE JUDGES NAMES.

NOR DO I KNOW ALL THE SKATING PARTNERS NAMES.

What is the big deal about that?

I knew people on here would act like this but I thought this forum was better.

No, some of us have respect for other people, particularly those who have achieved something fantastic.

If you didn't know her name, why did you say "Thanks for clearing that up then " when I told you her name? The use of '' implies you already knew.

I never said your comments had anything to do with race, the way you felt you had to point that out in your original post makes it quite obvious you thought you'd be accused of it, but I really wasn't being defensive because of that.

I'm just defending a sweet, talented woman. Thats all

Anyway, no more arguing

Good grief.

If I knew how to do it I would change "Russian" to "Redhead".

You haven't answered my question.

And can you not spell 'Natalia' or something, as you seem to have a problem using her name.

Dave

Yes I can spell Natalia - get over it.

I'm not bothered about your lack of using her name, it's the fact you think her opinions shouldn't be credited because she cannot speak the English language as well as the others. She has every right to be there and has the knowledge to produce good opinions.

Eeeeehhhhhhhhh - it's a TV show, not a professional competition.

Right ok.

Now please answer my question:

Did you know her name before you posted this thread, yes or no?

If yes, why didn't you use it?

If no, why did you reply "Thanks for clearing that up then " when I told you her name?
