I'm awful at skating but since watching this show, I'd really like to start skating lessons ASAP. I know it will take a lot of work before all the lifts, but still scared lol...

Anyone else thinking of starting lessons?

Me. But Solihull is a fair way to go. Saying that I said I'd learn to dance after my January exams and haven't got round to it yet.

I need to release some energy!

I'm 18 too, but don't think it's too late, look how quick the celebs learned it.

It looks really fun!!!

I'm 16, and if I started dancing (ballroom or latin) or skating I would have to be good! I would take at leat 1 private lesson every month to achieve this too. I have played cricket, and a little football before, and currently golf so co-ordination should be good. Downside is I'm 6ft 2".

The celebs did have lessons from a pro skater, T&D, and Karen Barber every day for 3 months though.

I have always resented my parents for not letting me take proper skating lessons when I was younger. There is a thread on here somewhere where a poster mentions she took up skating at 33 and loves it, so your never too old.

I badly want to do it, its finding the time.

Yep, I would be prepared for all the lessons possible. I reckon it would be really rewarding, and even if you weren't the best, you'd still have fun in your lessons, etc.

Unless you fell over a lot. That would get you down, literally!

I like to be fairly decent at stuff, and the better I am, the more I enjoy it!

I went last week and remembered how much I used to love it. I managed to spin around on two feet, and I can still turn corners without stopping!!

I've been skating about three times in my life. The older I get, the more cautious (sp) I am on the ice. That's the worrying thing lol

No way. I would be useless.

I look at how far they came in week one with 150 hours training with a pro and I just know I'd be lucky to be doing anything more than circumnavigating the rink after a few years.

Even Stephen, bless. He should go in competitive terms but he is still a million times better than I would ever be.

That 33 year old is me!!! To all who think they are too old to take up this wonderfully challenging sport.....YOU'RE REALLY NOT!!!!

It's never too late. Some people down my rink are well into their 60s and 70s and didn't take up skating till well into their 40s and 50s!!

Do it! You won't regret it! You'll laugh and cry in equal measure but you'll also have a brilliant time!

And to anyone who thinks they don't have the time....if you fall in love with skating like I have you make the time. 2 out of the 3 lessons I have a week are at 7am before I go to work! I wouldn't get out of bed (alarm goes off at 5.50 am! ) at that time for anything but skating!!

Believe me I <3 Tweety I would say the same and it's always a massive struggle to get out of my pit!

But once my feet touch the ice and I'm 30 seconds into my lesson I totally forget what time it is and afterwards go to work feeling great!

There's really no better way to start the day!
