Sonia's departure
Is it just me or is the whole Sonia leaving Albert Square completely unbelievable? I know its not real life and its a soap, but after everything Sonia has been through with Rebecca I find it incredulous that Sonia would leave without her. The scriptwirters have got this storyline completely wrong IMO.

Yes but then this is EE, poor writing since 2002!
I thought it was very bad the way they wrote Pauline out and never even gave her a proper send-off with the sad tune at the end. Yet they did with Sonia, I dont now watch it that much it is so poor all round. |

Um. She did leave with Rebecca and Martin. Did you see the end of the episode?

It was not very believable. Sonia wouldn't just leave Rebecca like that!

To me it appears that the Joe thing (that he really was a nasty man!) was hastily written in to provide a happy ending for Sonia and Martin.
It was nice to have a happy ending for a change, with Martin finally breaking the link with his mother. Sonia didn't want to leave Rebecca but she thought she was making everyone miserable by staying. |

But the Joe thing wasn't very believable!
Surely the police would have had to investigate 1st. Dot and Jim could have just been saying it to get their granddaughter off the hook! |

I think Sonia had a sneaky peek at the end of the script and knew Martin and Rebecca would join her. I was very happy with the exit. It was sweet and they both desearved a happy ending.

I'm glad the characters had a happy ending, being together as a family! After all they've gone through in their time there it's nice to see them leave together smiling and happy. It was the best way for them to leave. Also it means if they ever wanted to, they could return in the future.

I actually thought the Departure of Sonia, Martin and Rebecca was very well written. The emotion brought by the characters was excellent and their storyline - despite having weak parts - was overall very good. I think EE is going back up!

![]() Anyhow, maybe she thought with all that had happened and with the fact that Rebecca had been a witness to Sonia and Pauline's fight that she would never be able to be a good mother in Rebecca's eyes, so it would be best to let Martin raise her as he had always been a good father figure?? |

I think Martin and Sonia's exit was great, i wasnt keen on Paulines and felt the character and Wendi Richards deserved better than that.
Anyone know what will happen to the house? I read on teletext that Ian wants to buy it but Jane isnt impressed. |
