Julia's Theme
I am probably going to sound a bit silly saying this, but, what exactly is Julia's Theme?
I've heard alot about it but I have no idea what it is?! |

The EastEnders music played by the Piano before the closing credits start.

After some digging I find this.
http://www.asahicks.fsnet.co.uk/eastenders/ You can download the full 3 minute version there. You'll need the tissues!

Julia is Julia Smith, EastEnders co-creator and known as the EastEnders Godmother.
Sadly, she died in 1997. She was the real life owner of Roly She also co-created Eldorado (with Tony Holland) Her name still appears to this day at the end of every EastEnders episode. |

She left as producer of Eldorado before she was fired! And her replacement was Corine Hollingworth, who later went on to be a producer of five's Familly Affairs, both of which were axed soon after!

Julia Smith never really got over 'Eldorado' - she was forced to rush it to air 3 months earlier that originally planned - the set wasn't even finished - and it was obvious from the first few episodes there'd been no rehearsals, no script-rewrites and no thought as to how a British audience would relate to characters speaking only fluent spanish! That said, I also heard Julia was a bit of an old cow on-set and bullied a lot of the production team and cast. That kind of thing never happens on the EastEnders set now nowadays
