I am probably going to sound a bit silly saying this, but, what exactly is Julia's Theme?

I've heard alot about it but I have no idea what it is?!

After some digging I find this.

http://www.asahicks.fsnet.co.uk/eastenders/

You can download the full 3 minute version there.

You'll need the tissues!

Julia is Julia Smith, EastEnders co-creator and known as the EastEnders Godmother.

Sadly, she died in 1997.

She was the real life owner of Roly

She also co-created Eldorado (with Tony Holland)

Her name still appears to this day at the end of every EastEnders episode.

She left as producer of Eldorado before she was fired! And her replacement was Corine Hollingworth, who later went on to be a producer of five's Familly Affairs, both of which were axed soon after!

I'm guessing that she wasn't fab as the producer of five's programmes!

To be fair, Corrine Hollingworth did a pretty good job with Eldorado and the ratings were starting to improve - it was Alan Yentob, who had just taken over as the BBC Controller that got rid of it because it didn't fit his vision of the BBC.

Julia Smith never really got over 'Eldorado' - she was forced to rush it to air 3 months earlier that originally planned - the set wasn't even finished - and it was obvious from the first few episodes there'd been no rehearsals, no script-rewrites and no thought as to how a British audience would relate to characters speaking only fluent spanish!

That said, I also heard Julia was a bit of an old cow on-set and bullied a lot of the production team and cast. That kind of thing never happens on the EastEnders set now nowadays
