Its about time itv1 and the BBC did something about these Emmerdale/EastEnders clashes, mostly Emmerdale win, although EE did a few times too, and its not fair to forse fans to choose between there favorite TV shows that are otherwise on at seperate times. BOTH soaps have a lower audience due to this, so wouldnt it just be easier to not do it!!

I don't see what the big deal is; both of them are repeated at least twice.

Agreed

There are also VCRs, Sky+, Freeview PVRs, Cable recorders

It very easy to record one or just watch the repeat showing

I don't mind the soap clashes. I would always choose to watch Eastenders anyway so it doesn't bother me personally, but i think people who do watch both should record one of them, whilst watching the other or just catch the repeat or omnibus.

According to some posters, people watch EastEnders at different times these days, hence they are always championing adding all the figues for the week's transmissions, so surely these clashes aren't affecting anyone anymore.

With today's technology and endless repeat schedules, there is usually more than one opportunity to catch each episode.

People will watch what they want to watch and just record the rest.
