seems from information posted elsewhere that bt talk still has problems with certain areas having bt talk drop in and out - been ongoing for 5/6 days.

We live in cumbria and, like yourself, we have had on / off problems with the home hub phone and have, consequently, been unable to take advantage of the free evening and weekend calls.

The guy re-registered my number for BT Talk and, when he asked if I could ghear a dial tone, it seemed ookay. Now, although the green phone light is now lit, we cannot use the phone.

It looks like BT are still having teething troubles with the home hub phone. I just wish they would get it sorted out - we are on the most expensive package, option 3, and it would be nice to get VFM for once!

I just want to clarify any comments about no dial tone.
I have 2 Hub Phones. I cannot dial out . This is not entirely true as apparently my friends complain of receiving a call and then it going off. In my case I cannot hear any dialling tone; I cannot hear the number being dialled; I cannot here (contact) the recipient of my call but despite all that the phone window shows that dialling is proceeding.
However, I can ring out on the land line using 5. Using the land line I do hear dialling tone, dialling, and of course the recipient.
So I know it is not a phone problem because each of the phones are the same.
I have tried a number of way of resolving the matter without success.
It has occurred to me, but I cannot be certain about this, that this effect manifested itself after the time I download a film on Vista, but this may of course be a complete red herring.
Is this the same problem as others?
Any help in resolving this problem is appreciated.
I have to say that prior to this little gremlin I have had no problems whatsoever with the BT Hub.
