Strictly Come Darcey?

I read an article about Darcey Bussell in The Mail on Sunday (4 Feb.) which I've posted in full on Greytop's thread, part of which reads:

'Darcey's been approached to appear on Strictly Come Dancing and negotiations are at a final stage,' says a source. The BBC has been after her for a while but she's always said no until now because of her ballet commitments.'

I'm already trying to narrow down who her partner could be! Apparently she's 5' 7" plus add a couple of inches for heels, so I think it would be unlikely that Vincent or Darren would be contenders. Who would be a good match to her grace, elegance and poise? Methinks Mr Cutler.

Is this a wind-up? I thought the idea of SCD was to get people ballroom dancing who had never danced before.

I saw it too and to be frank if it was known she was a competitor , who else would dare to sign up ? She may not be a ballroom dancer but she has always learned routines , can express emotions , passion etc through arm , hand and face movements and surely she already has line to die for ?

We wondered on GMR if this referred to her JUDGING ? It doesn't actually say dancing .
Personally , I would not be interested in watching her : I am far more keen to follow the progress of a total non dancer .

The lovely Jeremy Sheffield (ex ballet dancer)as also in the past offered it apparently. I think there would be alot of transferrable skills involved and would put the complaints about Emmas previous dance experience to shame! It wouldn't be fair.

No if we got him bugger the fact that hes been dancing since he was five probably. He would get my vote for the same reason James Jordan gets it- both of them are hot!

Jeremy Sheffield doesn't actually do it for me, but can I request he doesn't appear as my poor sister will bankrupt herself attempting to make sure he's appearing in skin tight lycra on her tv screen ever week. (I would roll my eyes, but considering my Ramps inspired phone bill )

I was also thinking Mr Cutler.
Darcey would probably run away with the competition, but the dancing would be so fantastic and exciting that I wouldn't really care!

Guitly v.guilty! but if I see that someone is making yet another risotto I will scream!

I'd love to see Damien Lewis on SCD I love him! Alas he is making it big in the USA so its never gonna happen.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound quite so critical - I just couldn't believe the article was serious because of the former dancer thing. Come back!

I think it would probably be hopelessly unfair (but then, the GBP like underdogs so who's to say she wouldn't get voted out in week 3?) but I'd really be very interested to see how a ballet dancer coped with ballroom and latin!
