Customers who use services other than BT but who pay for BT line rental could find themselves severly out of pocket shorty.

The phone giants plan to charge customers for receiving incoming calls from any phone that is supplied by thier company.

Sounds a bit far fetched.

It would be a massive change to the way phone services were paid for.

I think if this were even mooted it would have been all over the press.

Probably someone pulling OP's leg.

You can, I understand, have incoming calls blocked. BT would lose many more thousands of customers and millions of pounds.

I think by now we can safely put this down as a hoax, somewhere along the line.

The hue and cry if had it even been suggested would be deafening by now.
