Porting/Cancelling
:/
Feeling a bit confused So wondering if by posting on here anybody might be able to help shine some light on the best/right course of action (o2 and virgin didn't help)My number is being ported across from o2 to virgin. I was planning to cancel my contract with o2, take that long term number and continue with virgin. Now I want to cancel virgin and revert back to o2... The number is currently being 'ported' across and virgin say they cannot cancel it as they need 48 hours notice to do so. Its due to become active tomorrow. Its quite important that I'm not without a number for any amount of time - obviously for contact over my son and work etc. Whats the best plan to avoid this as much as possible - - Wait until number is ported, and contract effectively fully cancelled and finished with o2. - Take out a spanking new contract with o2. - Request pac code from virgin. - Give pac code to o2. - Set up voicemail on Virgin giving the new o2 number as an alternative contact number. Is this right? I'm feeling rather old (in the head) today, please help the aged

Well what you can do is
- wait for it to port to Virgin - as soon as ur number ports out the line closes down so you will have to set up a new connection with 02. - Request PAC from Virgin, then give it straight to o2 so it gets the ball rolling - in the meanwhile you can still use ur number on Virgin until the 5 days has passed and your on 02 again. At minimum you should only be out of 'action' with regards to being contacted for the 2 hours or so that it takes on the day of the port in. I hope this helps, I also hope Ive understood what your asking!! |
