I got a Nokia handset, and it won't accept my SIM card.
Any ideas how I can restore it to factory settings cos my SIM card works on my sisters exact same phone. I can't remember the model number of it, it is the oldish one. |

Why doesn't it work, does it come up with an error, ask for a pin code etc?

Sounds like the phone is "SIM Locked" onto one network (Not the N/W you what to use).
The cellphone operators do this when they supply you with a new handset(Mainly One2One and Orange) to stop you using it with a rival. You could try and contact the operator that orginally supplied the phone, they might unlock it (providing it is not stolen) for a fee of approx £35. Or go to a computer fair and have it done for £5 (no questions asked). |

I had a nokia phone and unlocked it, added the extra 2 games on it, and all was fine, until I added the vibrate. I went to add the vibrate option on and pressed the wrong button and locked to network 000-000, so no matter who's sim card I put in I couldn't use it, and couldn't unlock it as all the unlocking software I had wanted it to have a working sim in it! Took it to 4 shops and 3 fairs, they couldn't unlock it! So I took it back to the shop and got my money back (hadn't open the sim pack in the box!)
