The health service in Walford
As a Mum in waiting I have been watching with interest the Dawn storyline and observing all the inconsistancies it has brought.
The first scan showed a baby of around 12 weeks. Now we're told the Dawn has just had the second scan, the baby is now 5 cms and will start kicking soon! A baby of 5 cms is probably about 13-14 weeks and you would be hard pushed to find a health authority able to provide expectant Mum's with scans at 2-3 week intervals. Secondly, what kind of doctor would suggest that a baby would kick at 14 weeks?? I'm 18 weeks and am only just feeling a bit of movement. The ONLY thing they have got right is the fact that Dawn looks like s*it - I'm certainly not feeling 'blooming' either. It would be nice to see a bit more realism to these storylines - it's hardly a difficult one to research. |

There was a few faults but I get the impression these were on purpose as May is clearly on the edge. She is like how Angie was in a way.

I agree with everything you have said about inconsistancies, but the way May is acting seems believable, shes either absolutely Bonkers or very devious, who in their right mind thinks they can adopt a child from their husbands mistress and all the while the natural Mother will be a few doors away, I think May is planning to get the child then leave Rob, She was very cold towards Rob in tonights EE.

i also dont get why dawn ever thought the best way to get rob was to agree to give her baby to him and his wife in the first place! surely if she wanted to get him her best plan of action would be to tell him she was keeping the baby and he could either be with them or with may. it confuses me. although i know its not real!

Leaving the usual EE inaccuracies aside, as a matter of fact they are perfectly entitled to have the baby. Rob is, after all, the father. And if they choose to pay Dawn to look after herself then they are entitled to do that too.

I agree. I thought last night was quite unrealistic. You wouldn't have a 12 week scan, then another one a couple of weeks later.
In my day (4yrs ago), you got 2 standard scans. One at 12 weeks and one at 20 weeks. After all this, I now have £20 on Dawn giving birth prematurely. |

I suppose Rob actually IS the father, it would be great if he wasn't but unfortunately there isn't anyone else's it could be

The other thing about Walford Drs Surgery is that unless the Dr is a regular character at the time or is about to embark on an affair with one, no-one ever goes to the Drs!
Also the Drs are constantly moving on to another surgery. Any surgery i have ever been to has the same drs working there for years and years, but then again, i'm not surprised they want to leave Albert Sq! |

yes-May said 'grown by'. i find the whole storyline quite had to believe-but then i've never been so desperate for a baby to think about allowing my husband to continue an affair just to have a baby. |

Also, Walford General Maternity Unit has to be the quietest in the world. Everytime they turn up for their (what seems to be) weekly scan, they're the only ones there. They often ask if they can hold on for May to arrive and the nurse say's no problem.
I only had my son 2 years ago but the waiting room used to be heaving, you were lucky to get a chair and, if you were late, you were straight to the back of the queue. |

A bit like paying the ex wife off in a dovorce and getting the kids as part of the package. They do normally though wait for the kids to be born before that happens. I'm pretty sure it happens quite a bit though in reality. |

From many years of watching Neighbours, Corrie, Brookie and EE I've noted that "full term" soap pregnancies seem to last around five or six months.
Maybe the writers think we'll get bored waiting! |
