440 Major Flaw

I just can't believe that the Pioneer 440 is unable to play DivX files stored on a DVDR. Looks like it's CD only for DivX files.

Surely this is a basic function which any DivX player should be able to do.

Even the £30 Yamada/Lite-On players can manage this.

Anyone found a way of getting this to work?

They work on mine. I had a problem with some divx on dvd+r/rw, but if I put divx files on dvd-rw they play with no problems. Have you tried that?

On my 540 and I suspect it's the same with the 440 DivX works fine on DVD-RAM, DVD+R, DVD-RW but not DVD+R DL and DVD+RW. I've not tried DVD-R.

No logic but it definitely works, have you tried DVD+ and DVD-?

This only effects DivX not WMA.

I use Nero and standard DVD ISO, never Multi-session, always closed discs and standard filename lengths.
