Hi
I have one of these high quality phones at work. Recently it it has started to do 2 kind of half rings at times throughout the day. They are not long enough to answer it is almost like some kind of alarm call or something. Do you think the cleaner has pressed a button or something? I have looked at the instructions online but haven't found anything about it. Thanks

Sounds like it could be a MWI (message waiting indication) refresh signal is being sent to the phone.
What phone system is this phone connected to?

Thank you but I have no idea
Everything is ancient and we have moved so many times we have other peoples cast offs
The desks and chairs don't even match.

PS How do I get rid of this annoying beep thingy?

The User Manual for the BT Converse 225 mentions a Message Waiting Indicator.

Try pressing button M8 and then following the voice prompts.
Quote:
“To ring your Call Minder service

Press the Call Minder one touch button (M8)

When Call Minder answers, follow the voice prompts to play back, save, delete and skip forward or backward through your messages.”
