My crappy apple headphones are nearly broken.

For some reason, my headphones for my iPod have randomly frayed on the connector end. Very annoying, and I have only just noticed it today.
I was only using them because my sonys were broken anyway! I'm going to wait until I'm off school to get them sorted, because I always seem to miss the UPS blokes! They're still working though

Skip school then. Just say you can't stop throwing up or something and they can't argue with that

Now what did I tell you about Apple? I've only broken one set of earphones and that was by slamming the car boot on them! Purely accidental, and I have loads of spares.

I do actually want a creative a bit. But only a decent, 30gig one maybe. (Purely because they do Divx) My brothers got the "Baby" 1gig one.
My apple headphones are actually a bit blue after an incident with a biro, and the iPod+Headphones in a blazer pocket.

I have these. They're actually JVCs, the whole white cable idea has really caught on. The only good thing I can think of with Apple stuff is that it looks nice.

I also have one of these

which of course is only restricted by the size of the card you put in - and of course how many cards you can fit in your pocket. Doesn't look very good but plays MP3s.

That's cheap! I'll just get some new decent headphones sometimes soon. Ones working, but its not the same hearing half the song!

Don't worry, almost any headphones you buy will be better than the Apple ones.

I'm glad I'm not one of the kind of people who just manage to destroy to technology. My problem is that nothing ever breaks and I then can't justify buying something new.

Get some decent Sennheiser MX500's, they're brilliant.

Apple will give you free new earphones if they are within warranty, however they nearly ALWAYS break. In a few months, I went through about 4 pairs of free apple earphones (the cable went, the sound quality deteriorated, one side stopped working altogether etc.)

After that my gf got me some nice Panasonic Gummy earphones for £7.99 and they are fab

I blew my apple headphones in a month! They can't take constant full blast music. Got some £10.99 sony ones about a year ago and they're still working a year later, albeit a bit worn now!

Same here, I am now using the headphones i got with my PSP because i am not shelling out upwards of £25 for new Apple headphones when you can get cheaper ones that produce the same, and sometimes better quality.

Anything's better than the Apple ones. A decent set of cans really does make a big difference to the sound quality.

With the earphones I suggested and buying from 7dayshop.com you will be impressed with the sound and the price. I want a pair myself because of the price drop.

Well, I've got the free apple ones on the way for the time being. Estimated due date: 23-Feb-2007???! Thats appalling.

What the heck... 14 days to send a bloody pair of headphones?

I always seem to, err, be in bed if I'm in on a day couriers come... cue finding some clothes quickly before that blasted card drops through the door and you have to go about 20 miles to get the parcel!

14 days? what they sending by Foot?

I always seem to be on the toilet, or in the shower or something. I know I always mention Lee Evans, But this really sums up parcel delivery. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMI3m6WDgn0
The annoying thing is that inside the big envelope I will get from apple, is a smaller envelope that i have to put the old headphones in and send them back. So, It's a bastard missing the man and getting it given to someone else, because then I have to ring up and arrange for them to come back, to pick the envelope back up!

Contrary to what I might have implied above, I normally prefer them to deliver earlier - then you're not spending the rest of the day messing around waiting for them to come, and I can turn music up and stuff like that (as well as toilet, shower etc).

Last time I had something (new graphics card) I'd just done the last button on my shirt when the doorbell went. Talk about timing!

But yeah, I hate it if you're expecting something to come and it's getting later in the day, because Sod's Law will say if you go toilet or something, it will come then.

Most stuff I order will fit through the letterbox and if it's a CD or something they'll use RM. I do remember ordering some CDs from a website in the Netherlands one Tuesday afternoon and having them in the player Thursday! Fast...

UPS wont do that. They need a signature form someone in the house. Even if I'm just getting an envelope.

It's daft, but I suppose they need to do it that way so they can trace the parcel - after all there are so many reports of them going AWOL.

So they send you a new pair, and an envelope to return the old one in? Or you have to send the old one, they have to decide that you've not trashed them, before they send a new one? You might as well just buy a pair and cut out the hassle.

I get sent a new pair, and an envelope. I had to put down a credit card, probably to make sure I send them back.
