Ive just came into a LOT of money - I am having a house built with 6 bedrooms, 1 study, 2 living rooms, and a home cinema room requiring TV equipment.

What kind of TVs should I buy for the bedrooms/living rooms/study, and the home cinema?

The home cinema needs to be thoroughly kitted out with the works - what kind of equipment will i need? by the way I am having 10 cinema-style seats put in.

I need to have 1 VCR for every room - any recommendations?

Also I need to have 2 master VCRs that will feed to ever room.

All rooms will have Sky digital, and one will need a DVD recorder.

Any other kind of equipment I should get, how much will it all cost me?

Probably because no one wants to respond to a smart ass that has come into a lot of money!

It's not personal, just human nature. Next time say your on a budget and you'll get more sympathy that way. Also saying things like 'it has to have the works' indicates an element of disrespect and a lack of understanding about the whole process and passion of shopping for your perfect home entertainment system. It should be a pleasure not a rush to impress your mates with the sound of your subwoofer.

As you've money coming out of your ears now, don't be such a pleb by getting free advice on a forum, get help from a professional retailer that specialise in giving assistance to laymen such as yourself who 'want the works'. They might even give you something that sounds and looks OK if they like the colour of your money! Doubt it though.

Yeah, I'm also surprised at the lack of responses - so many people post advice on this board that I'm surprised no one has offered to go freelance - of course I'm sure I could find some time if you want to hire me as a personal home cinema consultant.

Seriously, it might be wise to figure out what you want out of a home cinema system and why you want to get into home cinema in the first place, and only research and much viewing of friends' systems and visits to demo rooms will help. We don't do this purely to see how fast we can hit our credit limit...

Congrats on your good fortune...

I would be happy to help you, within the constraints of the knowledge I have.

First stop in my book would be the Linn Audio and Loewe TV shop on the top floor of Princes Square in Buchanan Street, Glasgow.

There's lots of great gear in there...but you need some very good professional help, coupled with what your eyes and ears see and hear, on a day to day basis.

Good luck on your new system - and enjoy it!

Ahh Jim yer too much of a softy. But then I already know that as you've offered to help me out with my RGB problem (Rich Guys Bragging). I know you've more posts then me (by a long shot ) in which case you of all people should appreciate that 'having the works' does not seem 'in keeping' with the feel on the forums. And as for monkeysoup offering his services for cash, well I think he should spank his monkey elsewhere! Besides I've seen some of his other posts. Actually yes, hire him, what a good idea!!
