RGB scart splitter
Hi,
My TV has only 1 RGB enabled scart, so I was wondering if I could get a scart splitter which carries RGB so I connect my freeview box and xbox. Could you point me in the right direction for a good spliiter that will carry RGB on both scarts. Cheers. |

A few other DS members have recommended a cheap £9.99 from Argos with manuel switching which does this job.

Yes the Argos one is fine.
Just get the word 'splitter' out of your head. They do these too and they are NOT what you want. It's a 'scart switch box' that you need. |

Does the Argos unit handle widescreen correctly? I remember testing some SCART switches a while ago, and the pin 8 control line, instead of being switched, was combined using diodes. The problem with this is, if any source device is on 4:3 then the TV is put into 4:3, even if the source you're actually watching is widescreen.

The Argos one handles WS switching fine.
btw, The same company (B-Tech) do an auto switching/remote SCART switch box. 'The Quintro' This is where I got mine from.... http://www.beyondhifi.net/shopping/m...?ProductID=565 Worth the extra £60 odd ! |

strange - link address looks ok. It works if you copy and paste.
http://www.lektropacks.co.uk/product...id=112&sku=618 Its a 3 way scart switch box. I thought it looked quite good, but I wouldnt know either way. Is it any better than getting a cheapo from Argos? What do you think? |

Still can't get it to work.
Anyway, I think they're all made by the same company, B-TECH so stick to the Argos one, it'll probably br cheaper. |
