I don't think HC promised anything, in fact March 1st is the date (given on the news artcle) for the launch of the Tiscali service.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but nowhere does this say it'd affect existing customers. Certainly, if it did, you'd hope they'd have written to us by now to let us know of the changes...

The date you mention was never formally announced by Tiscali, just mentioned to a customer by customer services.

And the changes are only for Tiscali customers. Unless you count a renaming of the service on the STB. Existing customers won't see any difference.

indeed true the first of March is the rebrand!
new firmware will be added to the set top box
for rebrand to tiscali.
homechoice customers will not be swithed over to the tiscali
atomaticly
so infact were still with hc and not tiscali name's changed nothing else same service!

not according to several sources, all of whom stated on 11th feb hc would officily be rebranded as Tiscali with new packages that include the current broadband/phone packages that tiscali currently offer. so for 8 meg , phone and tv on hc you currently pay 32.99, the new packages supposed to be available would be for only 21.99 as they dont include the tv.. A package that hc have been promising since septermber last year

The rebrand has already started! Apart from the main page of the TV guide, all other instances of the HomeChoice logo on the EPG have been replaced by the blob in Tiscali's logo. The trailer for Channel of the Month uses the same shapes, in Tiscali's lilac and lime green colours.

You would leave HC because they have not rebranded ? Thats a bit like not drinking pepsi because you dont like how the can looks.

Strange. Some people are rather odd with their requirements and expectations, must be a nightmare in customer services.

Yes, I noticed this the other day. Firstly that none of the TV guide adverts mention HomeChoice by name, then the 'blob'. It's so subtle I wondered if it had always been there...

I think he's actually annoyed as he was hoping for a new "no tv" service judging by his previous post history. However, even with that said, it doesn't really matter how many "sources" have stated the change would be Feb 11th. Tiscali themselves hadn't so they haven't exactly been dishonest.

nothing strange about it if you knew the full facts, in september 2005 homechoice when they introduced the 8 meg service they offered a broadband only pack with optional unlimited calls.
i downgraded from the triple play service as the tv service was appalling ( and still is) and was surplus to my requirements as i had sky tv.
at the time the package was the same price as the triple play but would be lowered in accordance.
That never happened, instead within 2 months home choice dropped the broandband only package and reverted to triple play only.
since the purchase by tiscali homechoice have promised and failed to deliver a broadband only package ( btw my 12 month contract when i downgraded states a broadband only package with no mention of tv so homechoice themselves broke a contract agreement). in july 2006, november 2006 and now feb 11th homechoice have promised brand new packages.
hence the number of people who recieved 4 months free because these packagaes failed to materialise.
after yet another failiure by homechoice its time to leave.
as to why i havent left before sky broadband is even more appalling , ntl/telewest isnt available in my area and bulldog leaves alot to be desired so options have been limited.
i was hoping with the rebrand and broadband only packages i wouldnt have to go through the hassle of going back to BT ( im on a HC line) then waiting for the downtime while i switch isps, but i refuse to pay homechoice over £30 a month for phone and broadband when a company owned by them offers the same deal for £21.99 a month, and will be adding line rental to this price in march as well.

In the two years ive been with homechoice ive had nothing but problems regarding constant billing errors , poor quality tv when i did have the service, and lousy customer support which recently has got even worse.

other than a generally stable internet i see no reason to throw money away any longer on a company that has done nothing in improving there service and in many instances have taken backward steps

I'm still unclear when HC said they would be offering new packages on Feb 11th. I certianly never got sent a letter telling me this would be the case and have seen no official comment from HC regarding this. Do you have a link you could let us have showing where HC said this?

Well I just rang them up as Im nearing the end of my second 4 month free period and said "I was thinking of leaving"I was then promised that all the new re-structuring will be finalised by March.

When I said Iv'e heard it all before I was promptly offered another 1 month free as he was so confident that I would be very happy with the new changes.

9 months free in total! Can't argue with that... The savings for me have been huge, thanks HC/Tiscali

I've only been with them for 7 months, but have only paid for 2 of those (maybe 3) because of freebies
