Then after Robbie (again with combined total) it is Eurythmics with 11 Brit Awards: 6 Best British Female for Annie Lennox, 1 Best British Album for Annie Lennox (Diva) and 3 Best British Producer for Dave Stewart and 1 Outstanding Contribution award. |

Hmmm, as much as I used to like the Eurythmics I kind of felt that both they and Annie Lennox kept winning them because there was basically nobody else to compete with her. It used to be pretty tedious just knowing she would win them all the time. Same with Robbie. Still if that is true and he did win all of those he shouldn't be too unhappy about losing out last night. He should also take the viewpoint that a lot of people who have won Brits over the years have sunk in to oblivion (remember the furore about Craig David not winning one of his nominated categories some years ago; The Darkness; Tasmin Archer etc etc) - or perhaps it is now Robbie's turn to do the same thing. Oh dear.... |

The Brit Awards are only designed for whoever the music industry is going to be plugging more this year. And the winner is ... oh it's that newcomer Amy whatshername who just so happens to have a new album out, what a coincidence that she's won best new female arsehole, I must run out and buy her cd to see what all the fuss is about.
They're just trying to generate sales with this show. The musicians are on a conveyor belt. |
