3 dump 14 day satisfaction guarantee
3 have now imposed the following restrictions making the previous 14 day satisfaction guarantee a nonsense...
"14 day peace of mind guarantee If you are a new 3 customer and for some reason you are not happy with 3, you can return your mobile and original boxed accessories, along with your proof of purchase, within 14 days of receipt to us and we will give you a full refund. In order to be eligible to return your mobile under the 14-Day Money Back Guarantee you must not have used your handset to make or receive calls or texts, take photos, or download content. Similarly, if your mobile has been damaged since you received it, this guarantee will not cover you. This does not affect your statutory rights." Distance selling reglautions apply for web sales and phone sales but if you commit to a deal in a 3 Store and do anything with the handset you are trapped for up to 18 months... The above is applicable to 3 on-line, 3 Stores and has been inimated to dealers (most of whom have dumped 3 already due to such nonsense ). Horrific... and they have recently removed most of thier UK contact centre support... Yuk.. Be Warned... Last edited by wavejockglw : 15-02-2007 at 22:50. |

To get around things like that in the past (such as Argos) I use a SIM card I already have for the phone, so that if you want to return it you just reset to factory settings and show that you've not even activated the new SIM card
although I don't suppose many people have Three SIMs lying around.

yuk indeed, I'm falling out of love with this company..
I honestly don't know which network I want to be on when my contract runs out, maybe o2 / voda. I've gone off Orange and Three. |

well you will need to look out for mis-selling now, if they mis sell anything you have the right to cancel, of if you have a faulty device within the first 14 days.

Ihave just been caught out on this 14 day peace of mind con.
I received a sony k610i on the 14th of this month.Last night the phone decided it was going to play up. The phone cant be switched off,i have to take the back off remove the battery, then re assemble it.So i called three customer services in england, they then connected me to india.Ithen sat there for 20 minutes listening to this bloke mumble on.He then daid i could have it repaired or a replacement.I said no thank you,i wanted to cancel under the 14 day rip off.He then said hang on i will get you a number to call.Five minutes later he gave me the number i called in the first place. I called it and explained whats wrong with the phone. She then said i cant return it beacause i have used it. I then said of course i have used it,how would i know its faulty.I then stated sale of goods. I said its not fit for what its was sold for. She said in no uncertain terms tough. I then proceeded to tell her to F**K off. So it looks like three are rewrighting the rule book. Even if the phone is faulty they wont let you return it. So i am stuck on a 18 month contract with a useless phone. Avoid this network like the plague. |

After this, they can send your item for repair to the manufacturer. |

"This does not affect your statutory rights"
if the item is faulty then you are within your rights to get a new one or cancel. |

Called three again today, was put through to india.
They said i could return and cancel, but they said i had to contact the online shop in the uk.So i called them and all i got was some snotty cow saying you should have read the terms and conditions of the contract.I said of course i did.She then said you are not allowed to make one call or one text if you wish to return it.I said how was i supposed to know it was faulty, without trying it.She said we can repair it, i said i dont want a new phone repaired.Only to go wrong again. They said no chance, we wont let you cancel and return the phone. Just call back and ask to speak to a senior manager and explain it to them. My partner did this and is getting a different model of phone sent out. |

Three called me at 7.p.m, last night from India.
The woman said that they will now let me return the handset and cancel my contract. She said the woman at the English customer services should not have refused me the right return the faulty handset and cancel. Never going to touch Three again. |

I got 2 phones sent to me when I only wanted one in november last year. I sent them back within the two weeks they were not even taken out of the boxes and I am still being charged for them. I have spoken to their customer services on numerous occasions they say they are sorting it out . But in the meantime I am getting debt collectors letters threatening me with blacklisting and demands for the monthly rental. The phones were not even activated. I have paid some of the demands just to get them off my back as I was being hassled daily. I dont know if this will be sorted out or if I will get my money back.
Has anyone else been in this situation with 3 and how did you resolve it.

daughterofeve - get in touch with three and speak to a manager - make a formal complaint regarding what is happening and get in touch with trading standards to find out how you can take matters further. I would also suggest writing to them regarding the complaint and ensure the letter is sent RECORDED delivery as it has to be signed for.
