Is anybody else watching GMTV this morning?

I may have heard wrong but I think they just said Take That are going to be performing on Dancing On Ice within the next few weeks
Just singing though, not actually skating

Nope it's a one off, but I can't see them ever saying no to Take That wanting to perform, the viewing figures will be even huger

Glad they're performing Patience

Have my name down for tickets next Saturday but no chance of getting in the studio now even if any tickets were sent out to me - place will be thronged with Take That fans and all the celebrites and skaters will be asking for more tickets too !

Great idea though and how to increase your ratings even more in one easy movement !!

So, according to Exclusive they'll be performing 'with' Jayne and Chris...

Can't wait to see how they pull this off, and fingers crossed they perform Patience with T&D

Ace, I kept hoping they'd appear on SCD but as Patience was out when Emma's Children In Need song was out maybe they didn't want it to compete or something?

T&D will be skating whilst they sing, that's all, they're not going onto the ice with them. Sometimes skating shows are skated to live music, Chris de Burgh did 2 shows at Coventry and Sheffield with a group of Olympic Champions and other international skaters last weekend.

Yes Gary Barlow said they would be singing two songs and it sounded as if they would be singing Patience live with Torvill and Dean skating at the beginning of the show and one other number.

Do you know, until I read your post that frankly disturbing image never crossed my mind - who cares that you'd have to be dumb to interpret "T&D skating with Take That" literally, I'm mentally scarred!!!

In the Skate Off show for the second number.

It was just when the other poster said "I can't wait to see how they'll pull this off", I felt obliged to post the obvious, sorry.

ITV know how to pull in the punters then !!

My husband and son laugh at me glued to the TV from the start of the first show, all thru defrosted, then the skate-off then the defrosted results - they are going to put me into therapy soon

Does this mean that all songs used in next Sat's show will be Take That songs? I mean, the Skate-off by defintition will have to feature two songs used earlier in the evening. So the only way you can have TT singing one of them would be if all the previous songs had been theirs.... they can't suddenly leap up and sing 'Diamonds Are Forever'!
Also, wouldn't this give the couple that skated to TT's live performance a disadavantage, as the band may not reproduce the track exactly the way the couple have been rehearsing it?
Can't say I'm that enthusiastic about a TT-themed show, I was a sullen sixth former listening to Suede and Menswear in the mid-90s and despised the little pre-packaged pop puppets. No offence.

[EDIT: Just seen the other thread. About 'Take That Night'. Well, Kristina's out, so I think I may just have some other pressing engagement next Saturday that will prevent me from watching that night's programme ]

No, as I understand it, they'll perform one song in the main show, which T&D will skate to, then in the Skate-Off show, they'll sing a second number with no skaters dancing to it, the show wil carry on as normal, and I don't think that every track used that week will be TT, just the two songs...after all, it's DOI not a TT concert!

I spy tears before bedtime. 'Guest' singers and professional dances don't mix on SCD, and I can't see 'guest' singers and professional skating being any different on DOI.
I quite like Take That but if Torvill & Dean are skating I want to see them skating, not have the camera keep cutting away to views of various members of Take That.

Totally agree, thats the main problem I have with it.
We're seeing less of them this series anyway, their routines are absolutely the highlight of the show, but no doubt we're not going to be seeing much of them next week.

Not a huge fan of this whole idea but seeing them skate to Patience will be good, and i'm sure it'll all work out ok

According to the Sun, it's a Take That themed show with the skaters performing to the band's greatest hits
