She's so annoying when she goes on about the soaps, seems dead excited in a bit of a sad way and always says stuff like she knows the characters and that they're real. Then she'll slip something in thats going to happen with an air of desperation and giddiness.

Pauline's death was an insult. Joe death was even worse and get me started on Dawn, May and Rob. If people can't see whats wrong for the show then there is no hope for it. |

The only way it wins the "best soap" awards is because the kids who watch EE vote online - Corrie's more mature audience dont, and probably have more to do in life than vote every couple of months for yet another awards ceremony.
Back to EastEnders being dull at present - this is correct, and there are simple reasons why:
Boring/Extended stories - Stories are going to people we hardly know or care about - and when they do, they drag on...and on. Bert for example, Kevin's vanishing act...very repeatitive and dull Unrealistic Stories - If you loose your sense of reality, you loose faith within the whole show - the Doctor for example, yes this could happen, it started out realistic enough, but now it's going too far & loosing it'ssense of reality, likewise with Phil & Stella - nice girl, but not for Phil - it's un-believeable. Lack of decent stories for established characters - people like Pat/Ian/Dot/Peggy - are all well established characters who the audience know well, enjoy & can relate to. Recently they have hardly had a decent story of their own...instead hang off (or holding together!) scraps of other dull stories. Everything Issue based - so basically you wont get bits of "normal" script anymore, like once you'd have Ethel & Dot gossiping about somebody, or Pauline talking about her childhood - ie, normality - EE need to have normal "talk" amongst characters alongside the major boring stories they are currently telling
SOLUTION: Simple, make the writers watch some classic Julia Smith episodes, just to have a sense of what EastEnders was, what made it so great, where they could be going wrong. Something needs to be sorted...soon! |

EE isn't exactly exciting at the moment but it doesn't matter. Fans will still watch it. |

Its not in fantastic shape and yes changes need to be made fast. I just think it's getting a bit much when you have to make a thread for one comment. There are other EE bashing threads you could have added this too. There is a Tina one running at the moment. |

Something needs to be sorted...soon! I'd like to see scenes with Stacey and Sean discussing their childhood together, Pat and Kevin talking about their families etc. Scenes which illuminate character. Thats why the Stacey/Jean Pat/Frank week was so superb, it was absolutely focused on the characters. |

she could talk about what in store for the Neighbours characters, rather than rabbling on and on about the ITV soaps.
As many people do watch Neighbours, |
