My brother has just phoned me up very excitedly to tell me the Arctic Monkeys are having a suprise gig in our home town tomorrow night.
I told him I didn't know who they were and he told me I was out of touch with the rest of the world and that they were are the biggest group around at the moment
Am I really that out of touch? Are they really that famous Any one else heard of them?

I've heard of them, listened to the album a few times, been told by people and the media that they're the best thing since sliced bread, been there when it's a student oriented club night and there's a rush to the dancefloor when they're played. To be honest I wish I was in your position

Come to think of it, I'm sure they were nominated for a Brit Award or performed on the Brits the other night.

Really not sure though I hadn't heard of half the rock bands mentioned or the ones that performed on there.

And where are they playing did you say...?

Even if I did like them, it looks like I'll be spending a fair bit of money when Aerosmith announce they're playing Hyde Park next week so it's probably for the best

Ceratinly an improvement on what their detractors were saying a year ago, it was generally 'forgotten in 12 months' back then. If the second album has anything like the success of the first, I reckon people like yourself will have to revise the 'forgotten in....' timescale yet again.

There arn't many there, though the barriers have been there all day, not that I knew what they were for earlier .

The dome isnt big so there won't be many people getting in.

You're obviously not a politician then... these vote-grabbing slimeballs feel it a necessity to pretend to like them in order to look hip and with it amongst the 'kids'.
I'm not sure whether it was Cameron or Brown who claimed to have them on his IPod, saying 'they really get you up in the morning!'. Whoever it was may as well have come in wearing a green cardigan and slippers saying 'hey, this has got a good beat!'

It was Brown, then he had to admit a few months later that he couldn't even name one of their songs.
