Can i wire up my VCR so that i can record tapes i have onto my PVR? Or is this impossible.

It's not possible; the Topfield (and most other Freeview PVRs, except those that include a DVD burner) can record only from their built in tuners.

It is impossible to record to any Hard Drive only PVR from an external source.

Sounds like you are considering using the Topfield for permanent storage; as with VCR tapes or DVDs. It is really not suitable for this purpose.

Richard

NB there is no doubt some way of converting Tape content to the file format that the Topfield recognises i.e. .rec and copying them across, but I am out of my depth on that.
