Do themed shows spoil your enjoyment?

Looks like we've got two themed shows coming up in the next week, tonight's Country and Western and next week's Take That (don't know what Andi Peters said on Exclusive, so correct me if I'm wrong).
Part of the attraction in the show, for me, is the music, and how such a wide variety of songs are interpreted. I love it that you might hear an Aerosmith track in the same edition as one by Sammy Davis Jnr (okay, it didn't happen, but it could've).
I don't like Country and Western music, so it's a fair bet I won't like any of the songs being skated to tonight. I don't like Take That, and their show sounds even worse.
'Movie Night' is fine, cause we're still getting different types of music used, but is it spoiling the programme to use a continuous flow of the same type of music, which could turn off a section of the audience?

I really don't like country music so am not really enjoying tonight's show much at all

The themes are rubbish, but they have got to do something to make each week different. It's not like Strictly Come Dancing where each week there is a new ballroom and Latin dance, each with its own rules to make it different from the others.

I thought the C&W was very overplayed this week.

I thought the whole country and western theme was alright and I don't like C&W music, but the Take That week sounds awful.

They spoiled my enjoyment of the X factor, but not of this show, as ice dancers will have to appear in all sorts of shows to get work and it seems fair to make them do that for the competition. I'm not a huge C&W fan, but I enjoyed the show tonight (apart from "Stand by your man", which I hate).

I have a theory that a lot more people like country music than will actually admit to it. I've always said I hate it, but still shed a tear at "Ruby don't take your love to town", think "Jolene" is a great song and I do like the Eagles. Lots of people don't think of them as a country band, but they are. Oh yes. "Desperado" is a very C&W album, but it's just so cool (or it was in the '70s anyway )!

Yeah, they do. I'd like to see a variety.

I hate Country and Western music too. I'd much rather they had done a disco theme night.

Maybe they will, that would be really cool! And they could maybe have a Latin American night too, I would love to watch that, and the costumes would have to be fabulous too

Oh, is that what they are doing next week? I knew Take that were on, but I didn't know it was a Take that theme night. Oh dear, that sounds - well -

Now, if the had a metal night or a trance night ( ), that might be interesting...

How can it be overplayed if it's the actual theme?

I mean the way the presenters tried to talk in the 'Yeehaw' accent a lot of the time, and such like.

I'm not 100% sure, it was just mentioned by the OP but is willing to be corrected on it

Ah, yes I didn't notice that because I was off in the kitchen cooking my tea in between skates. If that's the case then yes, how very cheesey

I think a Latin night would be fab, I want to see Jayne and Chris skate to Bailamos

I'm not looking forward to next week though, I like about three Take That songs, I can't take a whole night of them

Well it would be a lot better than Take That, although I do like Take That.

Are you sure it's a Take That night? I could've sworn I heard Andi Peters on Exclusive saying although they were gonna be on the show, it wasn't going to be a Take That night?

I enjoy the themed shows, they add something different to each one.

From what I understand it's just T&D skating to a Performance by Take That - not the whole show.

Anyway I enjoyed it tonight - but not as much as the Movie theme a couple of weeks back.

This may have already been answered but I don't think it is going to be a Take That themed evening - they are singing Patience when Jane and Chris skate at the beginning and then singing another song in the Skate off programme. The rest of the evening is not going to comprise of Take that songs or so I understand
