Surround sound headphones??
I would really love to be able toappreciate Dolby Digital from my DVDs but space is definitely at a premium.
I'm sure I read something once about surround sound headphones. Can such a product be bought in this country yet or is it too early? And if you can does anybody know if they are any good? Thans in advance. |

I've not heard of surround sound headphones before - there is a limit to the number of sources you can have right next to your ears - 2! However, most of the current Yamaha home cinema amps have a function called Silent Cinema which simulates the surround sound on the headphones. I haven't tried it though.

These do exist, I had the opportunity to buy a set of second hand Sony Surround headphones but I couldn't raise the money at that time (£100). I've seen an advert for a Philips set too.
Alternatively you could build your own! click here DaveP |

I've just got a set. These are good. The brand is Sennheiser RS 65-8. The have a surround processor that simulates surround sound.
Sony makes some too. They got a real processor - so it's possible to get DTS-sound directly in your ear - but they are VERY expensive. In Denmark about 700 EURO's. Click here Sony |
