Internet connection
Hi
As part of my BT Broadband contract I get free hotspot minutes but I'm not always in area covered. Currently I connect my laptop to dial up via my SE k750 but this is painfully slow - 15 minutes to gain a connection then copy and paste an email and send it. Does anyone know a better way to do this? It is becoming unbearable as I find myself in this situation three to four times each week? I considered a mobile data card but at a cost of £120 + monthly charge I find it expensive for my needs. Any ideas will be welcomed. Thanks Scrub |

Sounds slow are you using CSD? GPRS would be faster.
The best current deal is T-Mobile's , data card is free, GPRS or HSDPA upto 1.8Mbps download speed, from £29 per month. Last edited by Fred Smith : 19-02-2007 at 10:08. |

you're using webmail aren't you??? what fred says is right. or you could get a 3G phone from t-mobile and connect to the laptop via bluetooth for the same speed. You'd need to add web + walk plus for £12.50 to your regular t-mobile phone package. this would give you unlimited data.
for now though stop using webmail and configure your mail client like outlook to send your mail. Last edited by flagpole : 19-02-2007 at 11:34. |
