Bands that are gonna be HUGE
The Twang - Surely a massive single is on the way in the form of "wide awake"
Fables Last Stand a band you MUST see live...... any more ones to watch in 2007? |

I heard Wide Awake the other day on XFM. I think it sounds almost unashamedly like something found in U2's wastepaper basket circa 1990.

Seconding Fields. They were fantastic at the Bloc Party gig on Wednesday in Manchester.
Also, 65daysofstatic are quite amazing and I think they might make the transition to mainstream over the next year. www.65daysofstatic.com or do a youtube search for some of their awesome videos and live gigs. |

UnkleJam sound pretty decent and will likely get some success in a Gnarls Barkley way rather than a Black Eyed Peas way I hope. Didn't like The Twang much at all and Fables Last Stand I actually kinda liked, although it's nothing new, it's better than what is new atm. I might be tempted to go see them in Camden.

I put my uncynical hat on to come up with this list of new British bands who I think have a chance of becoming popular. A few of them actually sound really good but the albums will sort the wheat from the chaff I suppose:
Los Campesinos! The Wombats Union Of Knives Korova Fields The Maccabees Original Cast Air Traffic Good Shoes WinterKids Ghosts I also don't like The Twang at all and I can't really understand why they're getting so much praise/promotion. Then again, we live in a nation where a band like The Fratellis can become popular so nothing really surprises me anymore .ps. think I'll make a 'new British artists' mixtape and post it later. |

Union Of Knives QUOTE] Another good band! They have the sort of tunes that pop up in American TV shows and have people asking 'what was that?' Deserving of more attention methinks. |

There's a band called Touriste who I'm surprised have gone unnoticed so far. They're another one of those Snow Patrol/Keane/Coldplay type bands who people seem to love so much so if that's your thing, give 'em a listen:
Touriste web site (click on Music Player) ps. I've been finding some really good new music lately but in no way is any of it going to be 'huge' so I'll start a new thread. |

Biffy Clyro to get even bigger this year hopefully. Mon the new album in May-ish time.
