Orange Data - When will it be affordable?

So they give you 1GB a month for your 1st 2 months on an Orange 3G contract.... great!!

Then it's £4 for 4MB!! a month!!

What a nonsense!!

Why dont they divide the 2GB by the 18 months and charge £4 a month for that? Makes much more sense!!

I won't be using 1 Byte of data on Orange until they sort out their ridiculous consumer pricing.

Orange, Voda & o2 really need to bring in a Unlimited Handset Web bundle like T-mobile & (eventually) 3 have.

With the advent of real 'good' browsing on handsets via Opera Mini or improved manufacturer browsers, people are simply going to start using more data - especialy with mp3 & video downloads now not just geek territory - subscribers will begin to look at data offering when choosing a contract.

It is something worth looking at if you want to use your handset as a modem occasionally for back up reception of internet where there is no Wi-Fi.

T-Mobile seem to be the only network so far to have embraced data and offerit to customers at affordable prices although I hear Vodafone will make some changes in March. Hopefully all the rest will follow suit.
