BT Switch Question
I currently have a BT Line reconnected in November, I am moving house but want to move to Virgin Media for my phone as I could get all 3 services for a cheaper price.
Can I cancel my BT Line or is it under contract? Also what happens if I gave Virgin my BT Account number to switch the number would it go through? |

Reconnection of existing lines is 3 months min.
New provisions (a totally new line) 12 months However BT Retail might have locked you in a call plan contract, did you take any free call offers?? |

I never took any call plan offers i've been told its Nov before i can cancel but i can pay an £18 early termination fee but i've given my details to Virgin and they are going to deal with it i will get billed by BT if I have any costs.
Thanks for your help you can never get a straight answer out of BT Customer Services they sometimes say your in a 3 month contract the next minute they say your in a 12 month contract then they tell you your not tied at all. I like the BT Telephone service and have nothing against it its just the Broadband i dont like. They could do with better Customer Services though. |

Virgin Media ( Ex Cable) Phone Service is very expensive, 6p connection fee for chargeable calls for starters.

I'm only really using it for incoming calls and the free weekend calls.
