Thanks everyone lol

Just got off the phone from vodafone. Turns out i've only got 2 months remaining on contract.
They won't upgrade me to anywhere near as good a deal as if were to approach them as a new customer. Strange logic, but looks like I'll be leaving them in 2 months time for a different network.

They won't give me my pac until 30 days before contract ends tho

if u can wait 30 more days u can ask for your pac code in your last month of your contract - that way u have given your 30 days notice at the same time

I guarantee that when you phone up for your PAC code inside the last month of your contract they will give you whatever handset you want for free. I have done this for the last 2 years and my wife recently did it as well.

Just phone the upgrade enquiry number when they give you a quote for the phone tell them you are not willing to pay for it, they will then transfer you to cancellations who will offer you the handset for free. Job done!

It's not just the free phone. They are currently promoting 150 minutes, 500 texts, free phone, £25 per month with 6 months at half price. However this is for new customers only. They will not do it to keep an existing customer. So you get penalised for staying with them.

Hold out also Virgin mobile are doing 300 mins and 300 texts at £25 in a 12 month contract with W850i I told Vodafone about about this. Eventually got 200 mins and 250 text for £30 for 12 months with stop the clock whick ment I would use more than 300 mins overall, 2 month before contract ended. If I wated till last month I would have got better as I know O2 do very good retention deal a "favors" tariff 500 min and 500 texts new phone and 12 months for £20 a month so Vodafone have along way to go to beat that my girlfriend and mate both have this deal at O2. So the market is very competative, give each company a call to see what they can offer which may not be advertised if you go direct!!!!

ALSO DON'T TAKE ANOTHER 18 MONTHS.....TELL THEM YOU ONLY WANT A 12 MONTH CONTRACT!!!!!
