Orange "free" offer
I'm on Orange, and I had a text yesterday offering me a free camera phone upgrade as a "loyalty" reward. The number to call is a central London one, though, not an Orange one, and I'm wondering who sent this text, and if it's worth my calling them, or is it just a scam? I upgraded my phone in November, and shouldn't be due for another upgrade until around November of this year. I don't mind getting a free phone, but not if it's going to tie me into a contract with someone other than Orange! Anyone else had the same message?

I got one too, despite not being on Orange. It's not a scam per-se, but it's a third-party company trying to make you buy an upgrade or a new contract you don't need. Notice how, according to the text. the offer ends today (i.e. the day after you received the message)? That's just to put a little extra pressure on...
