Spoke to customer services this morning, the lady said not to get hopes up about new channels there were no more in the pipeline - but confirmed the addition of pay per view porn from March 1st.

I guess they must have been fed up at the number of people calling to find out where the porn was!

I don't remember anyone asking for porn on this forum before.

There was an article in Media Guardian recently stating that sky one still won't be available following the rebrand. don't know if that's been quoted before.

Yup, that's coz they want lots of $$$ for it - it's only available on cable coz regulators forced them to. And that's up for renegotiation at the mo - apparently Sky want loads more moolah from Virgin, esp given the hotted up competition... Sky don't owe them any favours, etc

from MediaGuardian .

Ha ha

I guess Sky get a whole bunch more advertising revenue with cable subscribers added than they do, so it's not just a regulation thing.

Sorry, veering off topic

For Sky meanwhile withdrawal will mean an estimated GBP45 million a year reduction in advertising revenues, over and above the subscription fees they will forego. Their willingness to do so speaks volumes about their desire to suppress meaningful competition.
What was I saying yesterday?
