Contract to pay as you go
Hi, I recently ended my Orange contract and had my number changed to pay as you go. I am now looking for a new contract either with Orange again or Vodafone. If I wish to transfer my number to my new contract would I have to spend a certain amount on Orange pay as you go or give them notice up front.
Thanks |

It really is up to Orange. You're best off calling Orange and finding out, no one seems to do anything for themselves these days.
As far as I am aware you are allowed to take your number wherever you want, whenever you want. |

I wanted to retain my old Orange number so I suggested porting out to PAYG and then rejoining on a contract and they agreed that was the way to go. They said to just call them again after I activated the PAYG SIM that they will send just before my contract ends. |

To port a number from PAYG to another network, call CS and ask for your PAC, which you then give to your new provider. To transfer to a new Orange contract, either speak to Direct Sales or do it via Orange Retail.
