You may have read my extensive post a while back about using your own router in place of the BT HomeHub for better speeds and using settings in a linksys ata to enable BT Talk.

about 2 weeks ago Bt Talk made some changes to the system which caused users of Linksys/Supra ATA's which stopped the 2 models of ATA from logging into the BT Sip Talk Servers.

i have spent hours trying different configurations to get the Linksys ATA to stay logged without any success. so i was forced to revert back to my HomeHub so as to be able to use my Bt Talk account.

as per my original reason for moving away from the Hub in the first place it became obvious when the Hub started dropping connections and then decreasing my overhaul speed of my Bt Max connectiom something again needed to be done.

use your own router and buy a bt voyager 10v adaptor off ebay (got a new one £9.99) connet your dect phone to phone 1-connect a cat5 cable to a spare ethernet connection and connect it to the "Network" connection on the 10v- plug in the power supply and switch on.

the 10v adaptor should now be assigned a I.P by the router if not restart both router/10v, now go to www.bt.com/bbv enter your account details in the box and log in, use the setup router option and then press configure. after a few secs it will confirm the success of the setup and the 10v will shut down and reboot and the BBV light will be lit !

your now ready to use your talk account again with your own router.

tested mine and the voice quality is good and louder then using talk with the hub phone.

there is no need to connect the pc in the loop through on the 10v so leave the cat5 cable to the pc connected to a port on your own router, nor is it necessary to plug a BT phone line into the 10v just leave this connected to your wireless router (phone line is only required on the 10v in case you need to make a call over the normal telephone line as a backup)

lights on when correctly configered on the 10v
1. power=ON
2.network=ON
3.ethernet=OFF
4.BBV=ON
5.phone2=OFF
6.phone1=OFF and lights when a call in progress
7.phoneline=OFF

still working on getting the linksys ata's config and will keep you posted.

least you can still use your own routers and bt talk.

regards
