Just wondered what the worst gig anyone has ever been too? I'm ashamed to say an ex girlfriend got me a ticket to see Bobby Brown at Wembley Arena back in 1989, now that was bad...Cant stand Bobby Brown but hey guys the things we do to impress a girl right?

I got free tickets to see the spice girls in New York in 98/97/96??

They were abysmal.

New Order about 5 years ago at the Brixton Academy - they were great, the set list was great but the sound quality was horrendous.

I've never been to a bad gig as I'm a fairly discerning music fan and I also seem to have been lucky enough to have avoided times when the band is having a bad day.

I've seen some pretty dire support acts, though, although I can't remember any names.

Same with me, never really saw a bad concert. But I have seen pretty bad support acts, well i don't like support acts in general, but I can remember some terrible ones that now are well knowed bands, The Kooks, so so bad, The Young Knives terrible, but the worst of all was Har Mar Superstar.

I will usually give the support act a listen as occasionally you can find someone you really like and go on to become a big fan of. A good example being KT Tunstall as I first came across her when she was supporting other acts. Also saw James Blunt as a support once,didn't care for him then and still don't.

A lot of the time I find the support to be not necessairily poor but not exceptional either,someone I might keep an eye or ear out for in future but at the same time I wouldn't miss them if I never heard them again.

Worst support I've seen would probably be The Glitterati. As to my worst gig that's probably Eve Selis. I'd been hearing good reports about her shows,Bob Harris described her as one of the best live acts he'd seen in the UK,and I do like some of her album tracks,but when I saw her,as a live performer she just did nothing for me whatsoever.

Hard-Fi were pretty bad, the singer insisted on singing in a ridiculous voice and making each song last 15 minutes.

I remember seeing Dinosaur Jr several years back and they were bloody terrible. Mind you the support acts (Bettie Serveert and Come) kicked ass.

Girls Aloud with my little cousin, they looked nice but... their singing was absolutley terrible so we left.

Badly Drawn Boy at the music factory, carlow, 2 weeks ago. Flouted the smoking laws, was grumpy throughout the set and eventually stormed off. Never again...

I saw Joss Stone at the Academy in Glasgow a few years ago and it was shocking. Not entirely her fault as she was let down by the sound, which was the worst I've ever heard in 25+ years of going to gigs. I don't mind crap sound at small venues, but it's inexcusable on a major tour.

I'm sorry, but being a "fairly discerning music fan" has nothing to do with seeing a bad gig. Everyone has their off days.

I saw Blask Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio @ 15 years ago at the NEC and the sound was the most abysmal I've ever heard.

I also saw Razorlight in Swindon last year and there was a power failure minutes after they came on. They went off for @ 10 minutes or so, before the power was restored, and then just went through the motions, really, and looked like they really didn't want to be there.

Not a gig as such but:

Kely Osbourne supporting Robbie at Knebworth...truly atrocious! At one point she even apologised for sounding so bad.

Sisscor Sisters last year @ Wembley. not as 'out there' as i thought they would be. Gone off them quite a bit now

Lilly Allen as support was the best thing about that gig, and I don't even like her

same here!!! i thought she was really good and looked lovely. After that i was bored :yawn:

The Stone Roses (as much as I love them) were awful at Reading when they played their last ever gig. I left the stage to watch Underworld - that's how bad the Roses were

Come to think of it, Groove Armada were bad when they supported Faithless @ Brixton Academy four years ago, I think again it was the sound quality and mics cutting out.

I went to see Louise about 10 years ago with my then boyfriend. Was really boring and all the men were drooling over her :yawn:

The Automatic played at our uni last semester. They weren't too bad, but the autmosphere was awful- nobody really knew any of their songs, apart from Monster.

Me and a mate went to see Bloodhound Gang downstairs at Rock City in 1999 (before that dreadful song was a big hit, otherwise we'd have guessed) and walked out after 3 songs. WASP have been pretty bad both times i saw them as well despite the 10 year gap between the 2 times i saw them.

worst gigs? sound quality for Nazareth supporting (Queen?) at Milton Keynes Bowl was very poor, as was a whole evening at the Rock Garden back in about '88 -but the worst for me has to be bad attitude by the 'stars'.

worst offenders :

Colorfield, (Leicester, about 1983) - what a bunch of insulting miserable gits they were - they only had one really good song (Castles in the Air), so it's not like they had the right to lord it over the audience. turned up very late too.

Pretenders, (Guilfest) - early evening - loads of kids - Chrissie Hynde gives 'a message to meat-eaters- "F-CK OFF!!!" she screams. yeah right Chrissie. somebody went up to your kids shouted at them to "Fk off" and you'd be happy? grow up.

Shane McGowan - behaved like a **** - utterly off his face - had to change because he'd just thrown up - couldn't mumble even half a verse at a time - a complete joke.

in the "boring" category - fell asleep to jazz maestro - Bert Jansch with Bernard Butler and Sky the John Williams' band. (toccata etc)

Its not your own gig, so try and play Novacaine or Beautiful Blues, no, ok then bores us rigid for 40 minutes then
