As some of you may be aware!!

I just received a letter from HomeChoice/Tiscali
as Folows.

Dear XXXX

We're pleased to announce that Tiscali and Homechoice are now one company.
This means that from 1st March all communications you receive will be Tiscali branded, including your TV service, web site and monthly bill.

More Content, Lower Price!
The great news is that by joining forces we can now provide even better value to our customers by giving you MORE FREE ON_DEMAND TV whilst at the same time reducing the cost of your monthly subscription to £14.99 a month. You don't need to do anything-your new price wil show on your March bill.

Whats more, from March we'll be giving you 100 hours of free ON-DEMAND ENTERTAINMENT From top UK and US comedy and drama seris, such as Prime Suspect, The Catherine Tate Show, Sex And The City, Cracker and Friends, to watch for free whenever you want. Plus on NEW 4oD you can watch 'Premium Series' such as Ugly Betty and The O.C on-demand from just 99p per episode. This also comes with free C4 CATCH UP which lets youwatch popular Channel 4 programmes up to 7 day after first shown. All your on-demand TV content can now be accessed from the new 'All On Demand' Listing on your TV Guide.

More great things to come
And thats not all. you'll also notice a change in March to your 'TV Guide' screen, which has been improved foe easier navigation. Plus we'll be launching a Personal Video Recorder and some great deals on phone line rental in the year.

There'll be no changes to your email address and you billing date will remain the same.

We hope you enjoy these improvements to your service.

kind Regards,

The Tiscali Team

Hope the change to the EPG isn't too drastic, I think it's very easy to use as it is. Glad about Channel 4 replay returning.

Mine says £45.99, which is £45.99 more than I've been paying for the last 6 months.

Personally I'd rather the average of £3 a subscriber was used to secure additional channels. Surely not even Virgin's suggesting Sky One's that much??

Mine says £27.99. I was hoping for a better discount to be honest

Confirmation, it would appear that Tiscali are moving from 1 episode per series (C1 Taste) for the base pack to a 100 hour cap on VOD.

That's 3 hours a day - I don't watch that much at the moment...

Surely 100 hours means there's 100 hours of programming available for free, not that you can watch for 100 hours?

I'm sure if you all called them and said you didn't like the package they'd offered you they'd sort out some kind of discount for existing customers?

I'm quite concerned about the fact that they have been bought by Tiscali as i have used and hated tiscali in the past... still at least maybe they will be a bigger call centre, so better at dealing it when the server goes down (when this happens to Homechoice I've previously waited for over an hour!). We'll see!

I hope existing HC customers will still get free EVENING as well as WEEKEND landline calls for the new lower price. The tiscali tv bundles only mention free weekend calls.

Great news.... but someone please tell them to change their bloody name from Tiscali! Awful awful commercial move to name it that.

...if Tiscali's [apparently awful] reputation is deserved. They've offered me a fiver discount but with little information as to how or if the service-levels will change.
BTW, all weekend I have been 'missing' several channels [those that I would normally use the most, by Sod's Law] and the best HC can give me is "it's BT's fault, there's nothing we can do about it, but when it's fixed we'll give you a rebate". If it had been the first time something had gone awry I'd have been a little more forbearing but now [and especially in the light of the takeover] I'm looking seriously at alternatives.

I received a similar letter. My package is 2MB Base Pack with Homechoice Line and free evening and weekend calls to UK landlines.
They are reducing the cost of this from £27.99 to £24.99 per month. But looking at

http://www.tiscali.co.uk/members/mya...ml?offerid=924

I see that I will soon be able to get a very similar package for £19.99 per month with Tiscali. I wonder if I can change package? The key difference is that this package only offers free weekend calls, not evening ones. As the Homechoice package is £5 more per month, to make it worth NOT changing, I would by my reckoning need to call UK landlines in the evening for at least 150 minutes per month. I don't use the phone that heavily in the evenings but many people do, in which case it would not be worth switching. I hope this helps people in a similar situation to me.

Has anyone with the music pack (or any of the add-on packs for that matter) had a letter yet? I'm still waiting to see what the random number generator comes up with for me...

I've got the music pack on top of 8mb and big pack. £42 is my new figure.
