How much of a discount is this compared to what you were paying (if you don't mind me asking)?

I don't know what it includes - line rental for instance.
I think I was paying £37.99 + £6 for music + ~ £10 for line rental.

My letter's slightly different. The paragraph about 4oD states:

"From March we'll also be giving you more free on-demand content with new 4oD showing popular series from Channel 4, E4 and More4, such as Shameless, Teachers, Black Books, You Are What You Eat and Grand Designs, to watch for free whenever you want. In addition 4oD comes with free C4 Catch Up which lets you watch popular C4 programmes up to 7 days after first shown. If you wish to watch 'Premium Series' such as Ugly Betty and The O.C. you can do so from just 99p per episode."

So it seems the basic 4oD is free, with some additional Premium Content.

btw my 2Mb Big Pack + Music has dropped to 24.99 - but of course it doesn't say what this includes (I'm half expecting the music to still be charged on top of that). Even so, it's £3 off the old price.

Ahh, good point - no - I'm free so maybe that's why I haven't got a letter

I'm still on free - I've just been paying for the Sky Sports package for the last six months. At the end of the football season I will look at the options.
mbear - I was also figuring that I hadn't had a letter because my free period hasn't expired. (Can't use that word without thinking of dead parrots!)
I am only with HC for Sky Sports because I can't have a dish and I can't have cable. If I stay (probably) I am wondering if HD with Tiscali/Homechoice could work in the future with Sky Sports. High class problem I know but ... any ideas?

Just received my HC Bill (with February Highlights) !! I rang HC CS to query some of the call charges. I was told my free period runs out tomorrow and I could have Base pack with 2MB BB for £14.99 or 4MB for £17.99. I'll try the 2MB and see how that is! The basepack is not much different than Freeview but I'm stuck with that just to get SkySports.

I asked about PVR and HD. Guy didn't know what a PVR was!! He reckons eventually there will be a new box with HD and yes I would be able to watch SkySports HD with that! I don't think he had a clue what he was talking about.

So - other than moving house or binning football altogether, these are my options!

It's now almost SIX DAYS since I lost the majority of channels and H/C seem completely unable to do anything about it.
Apparently there's a major problem in one of the exchanges [Kensal Green or 'Kensington Green', according to H/C] and they say sorry, it's BT's pigeon; I hear rumours that they've lost a MUX [multiplex] which controls a whole bunch of channels and it might take weeks to fix. So meanwhile I'm missing all the UKTV channels and a bunch of other ones [presumably all those on the one MUX]- effectively, I'm back on analogue only with slightly better reception and no time-lag...except that the picture on any of those channels still functioning freezes-up every ten minutes or so and then recovers a minute or so later !!
I sympathise with H/C and the other digicable outfits over BT's dog-in-the-manger tactics over loop-unbundling etc., but frankly any business that fails to [or is unable to] put in place back-up systems for eventualities such as these deserves to go to the wall.

Six days? Telewest left me without a phone line for two weeks. Losing a few TV channels is hardly the end of the world, especially as you'll get a refund if you ask once they've returned.

Regardless, I can't see what your post has to do with the "breaking news" this thread is supposed to be about?

I wouldn't say 'awful', no.

I like the choice that's offered on 4oD, and it's a treat to watch some early editions of Grand Designs again.

So, speaking for myself, I'm rather pleased with the content on offer, we'll just have to see what's coming in the near future.
