I have XP SP2.
I'm trying to connect the phone to a PC via USB but without success. I've attempted this connection on three seperate PCs on all USB ports (a total of 11 ports.)
I've read the two December 2006 Digital Spy threads relating to this problem but these haven't helped.
Alcatel tell me that there are no drivers for the device.
The phone displays "USB connecting! can not play music now!" when I press "activate" on the phone menu. The PC displays "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognise it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message." I click the message and read
"No drivers are installed for this device. If you are having problems with this device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter."
The troubleshooter doesn't help - It just repeats that there are no drivers.
The Orange Shop where I bought the phone can't help. Orange technical can't help. Alcatel just repeat the instructions contained in the manual and add "take it back to the shop."
Any help, possibly from someone who has managed to use the mp3 function, would be greatfully received.
