Bryan Ferry - BBC One session at LSO St Lukes

I just saw Ferry's terrific performance for the BBC One Session - wonderful!

Question: I saw a very young, red-headed guitarist in his band who played amazingly well (!!) - who is he?

Thanks

Oliver Thompson joined Roxy Music for their short 2006 summer tour as one of 2 guitarists supporting Phil Manzanera.

He's doing a great job alongside Chris Spedding and Leo Abrahams on this Dylanesque project.

He looks like he was up way past his bedtime!!

Cheers

PS, another little snippet:-

Oliver Thompson is a guitarist born in 1987 in England. He started playing guitar at the age of 13 and since 2006 tours with Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry as one of the two guitarists supporting Phil Manzanera. He also plays in his own band, White Vinyl.

I remember checking their website when it was fist announced he would be touring with Roxy Music last year but that now seems to have vanished. Perhaps they are no longer on the go since he started to work with Bryan.

He is really good and has gone down well with Roxy fans. I will try to find more info on him and post here.

Cheers

The latest information on Oliver from the new Dylanesque tour book:-

Born in London, Oliver grew up in a musical household. The soundtrack to his early years was an eclectic mix. Having been given his first Guitar at 13, he soon started his first band and played with various line-ups before beginning a collaboration with a pianist and singer to form what is now his main project, the band 'White Vinyl'.

www.bryanferry.com might have more information in the future.
