Funnily enough, I got the Ong Bak 2 film on German DVD and it has film trailers you can watch in English or German (even though the main feature has no English soundtrack or subtitles). Weird, eh?

When they're done right I love audio commentaries - when they don't work, most times it is cos there's just one person - the star or the director - rattling on without anyone else in the room to bounce off of - the one for 300 was like this, as was the one for Ultraviolet; although the one for Rambo 4 was great. One weird one was for Hellboy which, for the dvd, the cast were videoed watching and commentating on the movie, so we got to see them but not what they were talking about - though maybe I'm remembering things wrong cos I can't believe anyone would think this was a good idea.
Anyway, ones I like was Wrong Turn 1, Pirates of the Caribean(?) p1 (the writers one - hearing how the end story was cobbled together from a number of separate scripts was most fascinating - and.... (need a third)... the one for Jason X. BTW: if you're after a site with a huge bunhc of downloadable commentaries (free ones of course) then hop along to downinfront dot net - last one they did was for Looper, and one before was Dredd 3D. (I don't work for them!!) |
