Maria Manusova has the best suited body shape I've ever seen for Jive . . . and look at her go, I love that girl.

Every one to their own opinion then. I have never seen Camilla looking 'spidery'. I find dancers like Darren and Lilia are too small and it starts to look like a lot of hard work. After all Darren is only two feet tall isnt he!

Of course Ian and Camilla choreograph to suit themselves. Everything they do is is exciting and attractive and full of life without looking hard work. They put the same superb class into both styles of dance. Their ballroom is just as classy and so full of life it is electrifying.

Brendan's latin is also great, and he is not small either. He did dance with Camilla and it was also superb. Matthew is not small and his Latin is also fantastic. latin used to be the thing small dancers did but it is not any more. Small dancers do not look that great doing ballroom but these days there are more and more small ballroom dancers and they manage their choreography to suit their style and their strengths, so it works both ways. But please dont describe Camilla as spidery.

I dont think Thess was insulting Camilla, Elizabeth Jo. I know you are a student/friend of Iains and maybe that is why you are getting annoyed over her comment(which seemed innocent to me).
I like all of Iain and Camilla's dancing but again I prefer smaller couples jiving - looks a bit neater. I see what Thess means by 'spidery' - it wasnt a personal insult -just an observation.

I did not think Thess was insulting Camilla. I just think her choice of words is wrong. There is nothing spidery about Camilla.

I do have connections with Ian (only one 'I' in Ian ) but that is not the reason I am speaking out for Camilla. There is absolutely nothing spidery ar ugly about the way she dances. I also have connections with John and Jane Byrnes. Jane is smallish, about same height as me but John is around 5ft 10 which I dont regard as small. They have an impressive record in both disciplines and look better doing it than many smaller couples.

However everyone is entitled to their own opinion as I said. Mine is that although I am one of the smaller dancers myself I prefer well balanced couples and find the really short dancers can look as if they are making heavy going of it and lose the character somewhat.

So Thess and I must agree to differ on this one.

Can I just say I really do love Ian and Camilla dancing, and I think they're the most underrated couple on SCD!

Well said Laura. If I stand up for them I am dismissed as biased. A lot of people on this forum are biased, more so than me, you only have to take a quick tour of the threads to find that out.

Ian and Camilla are really fantastic dancing together. They did a show for us at a charity ball a while ago and nearly brought the house down. Anton and Erin were there also and judging by the reactions of the crowd Ian and Camilla wowed the audience a lot more. They are the most charming couple and the charity bosses were amazed by the help they had from Camilla during the organising and how helpful they were, nothing was too much trouble. A & E were simply just there because Camilla arranged for them to be there. She is a very under rated lady.

I remember Carol particularly commenting on how supportive and helpful Camilla was during SCD on one of her Carolcams.

Please explain about this good lady as some of us are less aware.

Camilla is an amazing lady. She is so organised and really helpful. She is genuinely friendly its not something just saved for TV. The first time I met her we were arranging the charity ball and we had lunch with her in Kensington. She gave us lots of ideas for the event and recommended a band. She also answers her emails and calls promptly which is more than can be said for others. She made that event a success

I've not had a proper email from Camilla I emailed her a few weeks after SCD when she left, and she sent me a reply back saying to vote for her, which did make me giggle!

I'm determined to meet both Ian and Camilla, because I do find them amazing to watch, and very very underrated.

Try again laura, perhaps she thinks she has answered you already.
Have you seen their DVD, that is really fantastic.

If you write and ask for a signed photo you will get one. Ian takes a while over it as he is so busy, dont know how long Camilla takes but she is the more organised of the two.

Do you live anywhere near London. They are appearing at an event in Swindlesham soon. They are really approachable and will take time to talk to you.

Not been keeping extremely update on this thread but I birefly saw someone write something abou taller dancers seeming to look better doing ballroom.

I just wanted to say that I agree - When I went for my lesson today, Kristi and Warren Boyce where there and they are both quite tall, they were extremely elegant and absolutely stunning as well.

PS - I was a nervous wreck having to dance in the same room as them my dance teacher could feel me shaking

Warren is 6'4", so extremely tall indeed. They personify elegance, the pair of them.

They are amazing! I was begging my teacher for us to find somewhere else to dance because I felt embarassed seeing that they are so awesome.

But they were extremely encouraging and sooooooooo friendly. We just had to keep avoiding collision when Warren was spinning round extremely fast

It got even scarier when Lynette came in - I was definately shaking at that point, but she was just as nice. Their son is soooooooo cute ... I want one *only joking - I dont really want the full time responsibility of a rug rat*

Little Glen is adorable though - did you know that Kristi danced Blackpool whilst she was pregnant with him ?!

Camilla lives in Croydon you might bump into her in the shopping centre.
Ian did 10 dance before he met Camilla. They look so good dancing together. I dont know which is my fave on the DVD I love them all for different reasons. I managed to get Ian to teach me the paso, it was pretty hilarious not very dramatic! I want to do American Smooth as well. I will start dropping hints when he asks me what I want to do in my lesson.

I have to say I love watching Darren and Lilia do any Latin and I don't particularly like Ian and Camilla dancing Latin I think they are more suited to Ballroom (my own opinion).
I enjoy watching anyone dance and Matthew Cutler is very tall and he is great at Latin so I think it just differs on what you like to see. Darren isn’t small and certainly not 2ft I think he is 5'6 or 5'8 and standing next to me that is tall.
I enjoy watching Warren and Kristi they look so elegant and beautiful.

I'd say that Ian and Camilla are much more suited to Latin, seeing as though they've made the top 12 in all of the major championships they've ever danced together.

And Darren definitely is small compared to most of the big boys out there; Slavik, Bryan, Paul . . . all of them are taller than me.
