Motorolas

Hi, I am about to upgrade and can't decide whether to go for the Motorola V3xx or the Motorola V6 Maxx.

I've not had a motorola before but have had most of the the other brands so am thinking about having a change.

Going off reviews about the two phones they seem pretty similiar but I wondered if anybody on here can give me any advice from personal experience with the phones?

Many thanks

Don't get a Motorola. After the initial "Ooh, new phone" has worn off, it will drive you slowly mad.

I prefer the V3xx.

The V6 is a little fugly for my liking, though it does have capacitive keys on the outside lens. So when it's shut and playing music, keys light up on the glass that you can use... pretty cool. But if you don't listen to music on your phone, not of much benefit.

As you say, features are pretty much identical, other than that.

Software isn't too bad on these 2. A big improvement over the RAZR.

Thanks, but just had the v6 maxx delivered today!! I'm actually pleasantly surprised. Not found it difficult to get to grips with - had heard that motorolas can be quite difficult to get used to but thought I'd try anyway - got 7 days to send it back. but I'm actually liking it so far!! Only annoying thing is the constant fingerprints on the front - and only had it about 5 hours lol!!

Windex is your friend

The more recent SW is definitely a big improvement over recent years. I actually far prefer texting on a Moto than a Nokia. But don't get me started on changing ringtones!

As long as I can use one of my own music tracks for the ringtone then I'll be happy!! They sent me a memory card too which I wasn't expecting. Need to go through it properly tonight after work but not come across the option to change the text message alert yet.

Menu>Settings>Ring Styles>Vibe & Ring Detail (or whatever profile you are using) > Messages> pick sound or music... then whatever file you like

I agree i had a v3 and it drove me round the bend  battery life was bad too.
I would have thought they must have improved later models by now.

Older ones had a bit of an issue, but it's nothing to worry about now. Would be like saying all Nokias are bricks based on the old 5000 series from a few years ago... simply redundant to say that now IMO.

They seem so outdated too.

They appear to be Fashon phones, they look good but thats about it. I rejected mine and got my money back as it was totally useless.

This one due out next month might help to address that:
