Liquid Damage to A Nokia 6111
Hi,
Last night I dropped my new nokia 6111 in about an inch of liquid. I manage to get it out within 5 seconds and it seemed to work fine last night. However it wouldnt work this morning and i phoned the Carphone Warehouse who said liquid damage generally cant be repaired. Does anyone know of anything i can try to repair the phone or is it damaged beyone repair now? Thanks |

You could try contacting nokia service centre - personally I wouldn't have admitted to the water damage, just told them it went faulty and tried for a warranty replacement.

Liquid Ingress is normally not good for phones.
You need to try and dry it out properly. Take the battery/back off the phone, and try to dry it near a radiator. If it is not water, it may leave a residue as it evaporates off, in which case, Im afraid the phone may well be damaged beyond Economical repair. Is it insured? |

service center will know it has liquid damage and wont repair.
you shouldnt have turned it on untill cleaned and dry as it may have damaged/shorted something now. best option would be to strip and ultrasonic clean but you may get away with cleaning pcb gently with toothbrush and alcohol (not whisky lol) |
