Hi,

I'm considering getting Homechoice, but I see that you have to pay an extra £85 to get wireless broadband (wheras this is free on a Sky package).

Does anyone know if it is possible to just use any old wirless device to get the broadband working wire free? I have a friend at work who has a wireless router for sale for £30, just wondered if this would work with Homechoice. For anyone technical out there, the full name of the router for sale is:

3COM 3CRWDR100A-72-UK WIRELESS DSL ROUTER

If this doesn't work, is it possible to buy some other device for less than the £85 quoted by Homechoice?

Yes, any of the "cable" type wireless routers will work just fine. Don't buy one with an integrated ADSL modem - such as the one you've listed.

Try something like this -> http://www.amazon.co.uk/Netgear-WGR6.../dp/B0000C1WO2

I was on the phone to them this morning - from what the guy said it sounds like all their prices have changed anyway and they have reduced most of them by the sounds of it - so the cost of getting wireless installed maybe changed as well - hopefully for the better! If I were you I'd give them a call on their freephone number and find out.

Installing wireless is easy - you just buy and old router (described above), plug it in to your HC box. And hey presto, it works.

Obviously there's more to it like that - security, SSID - etc - but that's basically it. Anyone trying to "install" it for you if likely to be overcharging you, even HC.
