It's unlikely as they're supposed to be different sexes. But if it did happen, the only way to sort out the final winner would be a Harry Hill TV Burp... FIGHT!!!

I think out of the three who went to see ALW, the self trained boy will get through. He seemed to be what "Joseph School" was all about - raw talent that just needs a little bit of professional advice to make it even better. I thought when the judges were turning him away, they seemed to be struggling for reasons for him not to go through.
A few people they were saying fantastic to were a bit iffy - like one guy who sung 500 miles quite badly...and got through??? I wouldn't want to be either of the two boys who ALW put through (ok we don't know who the next one is until next week) - despite it being a really good thing to have happen - I would guess that some would see them as having a better chance at getting further. I really liked the first boy. His smile was massive - but that made me smile. |

I didn't think this was as good as Maria (so far, anyway).
One highlight for me though was the guy with the very determined girlfriend. She was faintly alarming! |

Maria had at least 3 people who could have been Maria - two of them have been and one other is touring the UK with something else.
I didn't see anyone that good in what we saw so far and its looking really confused. ALW wants raw but they are keeping raw talents out and letting people who have already performed through. He wants sexy but his panel can't find anyone they think is sexy. Its looking like last time when he wanted someone new and different and then picked the person most like the original. |

are the majority of these boys made of tinsel and pink glitter?
the irish lad who lives with his grand-parents is going to be this year's connie fisher isn't he? all stage school teeth-and-eyes not saying he'll win but he will be annoying on stage loved the guy who'd already doing phantom. i'm guessing he's only one of the minor characters in it |

The calibre doesn't seem as high as for the Marias, but hopefully they're just keeping their powder dry and a few real gems will come through in the next few weeks. I was quite touched by the chunky bloke who got through, but realistically, are they going to pick him unless he loses a few stone? And if his winning the part is conditional on weight loss, I think we should have been told. Quote:

What did you think of Lewis Davies the last colured guy to sing. He is an old friend of mine and has real potential shame he didn't get through. He tried to sell me a get out of jail card for £100 pounds...

Enjoyed it last night and thought the singing was good.
I do kinda feel that Joseph has been re-done so many times already whether it needs to be done again... |

The guy who did Phantom is my fave so far, but suspect the winner will be someone who hasn't been featured very much to date.
Shame the auditions were rushed though so quickly as enjoyed them. The x factor auditions go on to long while these arent on long enough. IMO |

I liked the first guy who was sweet to his mum. He has a very strong voice, too.

I'll watch again, if only for the chance of another glimpse of the curly-haired god who popped up on camera twice but whom we never got to hear sing or speak.
Who is that mystery man? And why isn't he waiting upstairs for me, wearing nothing but that twinkly smile? *sigh* I don't mean the curly-haired Phantom guy - though he was pretty cute too. This guy had mousey hair and beautiful blue eyes. he appeared in two fleeting head-and-shoulders shots, and that was it. If he's one of the Joseph schoolers, I may just have to watch the entire series. If he isn't, I guess I'll find something else to do with my Saturday nights

More recently, he's been in the 2006 touring production of Miss Saigon. I thought these shows were to try and find an unknown, a little bit like the X Factor. I've nothing against the likes of Lee, but he's obviously made a career from the West End, and has his equity card, so why does A) he need to do this (apart from a major part and the money) and B) does the programme let him? Similarly Daniel Boys has quite a few theatre credits to his name. The likes of these two sure have a massive advantage over the other contestants who will be naive and maybe they think they have a chance. Not only that, but if they're allowing the likes of Mead and Boys, does this mean that the whole thing is just a charade, and the likes of those two are already earmarked for the role owing to their previous experience? |

There was also a guy called Craig who auditioned for pop Idol 2, and made it to the last 50, i remember him being extremely cocky and Simon taking a dislike to him.
Looks like he has made it to Joseph school |

The one who stood out for me the most was the Irish guy who lived with his grandparents but am looking forward to seeing more of who they put through. Think I'm going to really enjoy this- I'll have to watch the Sunday repeats of Grease
- can't believe they've put them both on at the same time

Wasn't really impressed by any of them but then Joseph is actually quite a bland role - if you want to find real unique talent, search for a Narrator or a Pharoah. Casting one of those two parts would have opened it up to all sorts of physical types as well, rather than just looking for a singer who fits the pretty boy band stereotype they will end up going for. ALW saying he wants a different Joseph is exactly like him saying he wanted a new type of Maria to completely move away from Julie Andrews ... which is of course why we ended up with sickly sweet Julie Andrews-a-like Connie.
Doubt I'll stick with this one - particularly when we get to the knock out rounds and we end up having to pick a musical theatre singer based on performance of pop songs. Again. |
