Not too impressed with the show so far sadly. I hate the "you could be Joseph bit" ewwwwww.

A bit wet all round.

The Irish guy and the black guy should've got through, I thought they were good.

Loving Seamus, I'd go watch Joseph if he was Joseph

Talk about the kiss of death, I liked ED!

I knew if I started liking someone, that would be the end of it.

How do these people get through life. Do they react like this at every job interview

"I'm sorry you didn't get the burger flipping job" - WAAAAAAH, SOB, SOB, SOB.
"You gave a good interview but you won't be scrubbing the toilets"
SNIFF, SNIFF, WAAAAAAAH, WAIL, SOB.

There - I enjoyed that so much more than the Grease show earlier. It felt more human interest and less "lets pull funny faces and giggle at the sad people" of the panel in Grease. A little more dignified and respectful.

I'm looking forward to seeing the 12 of them perform next week. I think there are some who will do well because they are handsome, some because they haven't had training (builder guy comes to mind) and others because they perform well. That will leave a natural wastage in the first few weeks of "none of the above".

Craig from Scotland was definitely a contestant on either Idol or X Factor. Can't remember which one and can't remember if he actually got onto the live show though. Certainly made it past the initial audition.

That is not what I meant, I have seen Joseph and it needs to be played by someone with presence, vocal power, charisma, and IMHO a bit of Testosterone, and so far I haven't seen much of that. I don't care if they are truck drivers or ballet dancers they need some oomf about them, and most of these haven't got it.

Apologies if it came across that I have a closed mind, nothing could be further from the truth.

It was pop idol 2. He was very nervous at his first audition and had to have a couple of goes before he got started. Simon said at the end he was definately a top ten. I think that made him cocky coz on the live show he was distinctly not nice and was voted out!

So you are now a qualified Doctor and can tell that any person who is able to show emotion always has a lack in their Testosterone levels?

Getting VERY close to a stereotype too far there.

Testosterone = not a whimp = a real man

Anyway, nack to 2007...

I think it's a shame he didn't get through but I'm not surprised - and neither was he - though it was never said explicitly they were never going to have a black guy playing Joseph. I think he was put through for the 'human interest' angle rather than as a genuine contender - similarly the overweight guy - they were never going to give him the part either, they will definitely want some more fanciable - and personally I can't imagine the story working unless someone attractive is in the role ...

Really enjoyed this far more than the Grease show. Much more talent on offer. There are a few with the right look and a few with fantastic voices. The live shows will be interesting.

Couldn't agree more. The Joseph show was far superior in so many ways - which surprised me, as I wasn't a huge fan of the Maria show and thought I would prefer the Grease one.

The ITV show just seemed tacky and tasteless in comparison - not helped by a scantily clad Sinitta. (Why? )

I really like the Top 12 Josephs. There were a few I was sorry to see go, but my main favourites such as Keith got through. Really looking forward to the live shows now - the standard seems really high.

Yes, admittedly Sinitta has a great body and looks great. But at one stage she was in a red bikini and a long pimp's coat - I didn't really see the significance?

But overall, the ITV show had a very tacky and cheap look and feel about it. I watched both and enjoyed the Joseph show a bit more - the blubbing aside!

Me neither! If there was any significance to that choice of outfit, it passed me by completely. If there was a 'shaking head' smilie I'd use it now

It is extremely difficult to have to miss out on the lead role of a musical which could certainly probably really boost your career.

I'm glad Ed went, his voice although different wasn't right for the lead.

I think the guy who beat Fraser in the sing should definitely have gone through.

Seamus is so blah, there were more entertaining people.
